the concept of Financial Aid

I’m a HS student class of 08, and i’m going to apply for financial aid (the fafsa thing) but i’m not a superstar student, i only have like 3.6 and a 1800 on the sat does that decrease the chances of me getting into the college?

thanks

I’m not sure what your question is.

If your asking if your stats will affect whether or not you get financial aid, the answer is no. Your financial aid package will be based on your panrent’s and your financial status (although there are some schools that offer a better package to students with higher stats)

If you are asking about merit aid, that’s a different story. Although, if you check out some tier 4 schools, there are several who offer merit awards for 1200 SATs (not counting writing section)

If you are just asking about whether those scores will keep you from getting into college, it depends on the schools you choose. I’m sure your guidance counselor will recommend that you should apply to a variety of schools including reach, match and safety.
