The Cornell Supplement

The Cornell College of Engineering supplement starts off by asking us to talk about an engineering idea or our interest in engineering… but I’m applying for CS which isn’t technically an engineering major. Am I still allowed to talk about CS rather than what it’s asking for?

(I know this might be a stupid question)

Yes, it makes sense to do that. The college of engineering encompasses several very different majors - focus on the one you’re interested in.

Thank you, I was slightly worried here.

Computer Science is needed in a lot of engineering. It’s all the same to this purpose.
