The Daily Show

Just saw that Jon Stewart will be hosting The Daily Show on Mondays through the 2024 election. He will also be an executive producer of the show. Guess he wants to put in his two cents and Comedy Central is probably happy to agree to any terms he wants.

Hopefully he will do a great job (and maybe shave that beard LOL).

I absolutely adore Jon Stewart - I’m looking forward to his intelligent assessments of what will probably be a very interesting election cycle.

Excited to have him back! Now I just need to figure out how to watch it since we cut cable.

I adored Jon Stewart on The Daily Show back during the GWB administration, but nothing he’s done since has captured my interest at all. It will be interesting to see how this goes for him. It won’t be like before, he’s not a young comedian anymore and the current political climate is very different. There comes a point where it’s just not funny and making jokes minimizes a real crisis of democracy. And serious Jon Stewart is just not my favorite.

I find Jon Stewart incredibly smart and appreciate that he’s often had me doing research - I look forward to his return.

I need to watch it on demand. I heard some clips, and they were excellent. I really welcome his return.

I only watched the monologue on YouTube - not sure if there was more - but it reminded me why I loved this guy. He was great, knocking heads as warranted and very funny.

YouTube has the entire episode in 2 or 3 pieces. There was an excellent interview with the editor of The Economist Zanny Minton Beddoes.
