The danger in estimating......

Finally got the last tax documents, entered them into our tax program and was thinking it was about ready to submit taxes and correct FAFSA when - oops - I realized I had a bunch of guestimates entered in my tax program that I had entered trying to figure out numbers for FAFSA. I know - dumb move. Now I have to go back and doublecheck everything because I can’t remember what was actual and what was guesstimated. Oh well.

Life would be a lot easier if they made the first day FAFSA was available Feb 1st seeing as how the various tax forms do not have to be sent to us till January 31st. And there is 4 inches of snow on the ground and I am out of milk so can’t even have a cup of tea. OK - wingeing over - back to the grindstone.

SCM,
Thanks for the heads up about finishing taxes before doing FAFSA! I’m behind as I just started working on my taxes last night. I was happy to figure out (thanks to CC) how to renew my FAFSA, but haven’t entered anything substantive yet. I wasn’t even able to register for the Profile as I have to figure out which form my D will use for her first time tax return, the 1040EZ I hope.

Have some green tea, no need for milk! ;)

I don’t put milk in my tea- I do in my coffee- but if I don’t have milk ( tip-keep some aesptic soy milk in cupboard) I will drink it without

Also another tip- for numbers that aren’t finalized, i use 00 or 99 for the last two digits to remind myself
