The Dawn of the Marijuana Industry

Is the country served by sending people to prison for giving, or even selling, MJ to others?

If MJ is at worst something that may be unhealthy if you *smoke *it, what’s the rationale for imprisoning people who grow or sell it to others?

Big pharma isnt getting their cut?

One of the most prominent anti-weed medical specialists changed his mind about weed after he saw through the B.S. of anti-weed studies.
Its not like legalization will significantly increase consumption, it will just be a way for people to get safe, cheap, and legal pot. It will drive down crime, it will prevent billions of dollars going to waste, and it can be taxed!
There is no reason to not legalize. Learn from history; right now we are in a state similar to when we tried to ban alcohol. How did that work out?

[Dr. Sanjay Gupta: Why I changed my mind on weed - CNN.com](http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/08/health/gupta-changed-mind-marijuana/index.html)

razor- no I do not think cigarettes should be illegal

I live in LA and let me tell you: Weed is the crack of today. It won’t go away. Legalization would just increase usage. Honestly, out of 100 random teens in LA, I would bet 80 smokes weed. It’s just the fad. I used to smoke until I left California for college. I’ve been sober for 2 months now and have no plans of going back. Some people do swear by it helping them sleep, helping with social anxiety, and pain. I can’t disagree with them.

My question is: Can I possibly capitalize on this “fad” with a degree in Horticulture??

The best reason is that free men (and women) in a free society should be able to choose for themselves to consume marijuana, or alcohol, or tobacco, or fat, or sugar or salt; or buy deadly firearms, or fast cars; jump out of planes, dive deep in the ocean; engage in varied sex practices, etc.
