the definition of interdisciplinary study?

<p>I was just re-reading my “appealing department or programs at MIT” answer, where I stated my desire for interdisciplinary studies.</p>

<p>Does interdisciplinary mean only things that are radically different, like politics and biology? Can’t it be something very closely related but still different deparments, like political science and history??</p>

<p>I don’t think there’s one particular definition - Berkeley for example says you should combine three fields: <a href=“http://ls.berkeley.edu/ugis/isf/[/url]”>http://ls.berkeley.edu/ugis/isf/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>But I think it’s more important that the proposed program has some connections in your mind.</p>
