Alright guys, it seems that after moving in to my dorm there’s still some questions i don’t have answered. I am currently completing my first year of college on campus (sophomore 19 years old) and have realized that i was put in the upperclassmen dorms. Now obviously these are very, very nice dorms compared to what other underclassmen receive, but my problem is everyone in my dorm seems to have established friend groups. I understand I can look outside of my dorm for friends like clubs, blah blah blah ya know, I get that, and I do plan on doing that because i can find friends there, but does anybody have any advice for making friends in my dorm. I only wonder because obviously people in your vicinity on a constant basis are easy to become friends with, but like I stated earlier, everyone in these dorms already has their cliques. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Food.
Make/get some brownies/cookies and see who wants some.
Organize a hall/floor get together/ party and meet people.
See if your RA has any ideas or if they will organize any activities.
See if your dorm has intramural teams…join one.
Ask people on your floor to let you know when they are goign to dinner and join them/see if there is dorm area/table and sit at it
Sit in the lobby/lounge and study/watch tv and talk to people who come in
