The East side blues

at the end of this holiday off
college hoodies around town
Maryland and Pitt in the second Ave. diner
Vassar and Smith walk on Madison
their mommies are at le Pain de Quotidien, Dean & Deluca
coulda be at Sarabeth depends on their worth
Duke and Syracuse jog around reservoir while kicking dirt on their neighbor

Harvard dad go hail the airport cab
Trinity mom urges their chauffeur ahead
BU and BC wait on the curb for their communal ride to come
NYU and Hunter know enough not to wear theirs in the public eye
if they were cought they’d rather be dead

it’s still a first term hoodies are a new
don’t worry honey we are all proud of you
what makes me sad is my kid won’t ever
wanna go to any of these nice schools never
maybe just because we don’t have a dough
but let’s not forget first couldn’t get in to go
what do I do to sooth my soul
went to the Met to look at some arts
alas!
its steps to the doors were
decked with more hoodies!!

Great poem! Really says it all.

finally!
some feedback!
Could you fix grammar / rhymes please?
like, do reservoir and neighbor rhyme?

redbug, I PMed because I did not know how the board works, did you get it OK?
and sorry about the typo, I must have wrote to the person before in somewhere and " the thing" remembered and did it by all by itself when I typed first word to say “Hi”
Of course I did not know how to fix it after hit " send" and noted mistake.

Life goes on, figuratively literally techy illiterate or not, college won’t wait.

haha thats great!

Bears and dogs - check your messages.

wow, thank you for bumping, and go ahead you can post here so everyone grammer/ spelling challenged could see and learn, or if you like, send me via PM
its up to you.
Happy holiday hoodies days!

Did the best I could with grammar, and tried not to take too much poetic license!
