The Experiment in International Living - Are you familiar with this program?

My son wants to participate in this program this coming summer. Do you have any experience with this program? I have browsed through its website but if you know anyone who have participated could you share his/her experience.

The Experiment in International Living has been around forever. A Chilean student came to live with us for a few months in 1970, and he later returned to live with my family for 7 years, then marry one of my cousins. My sister went to France with it.

I haven’t heard anything about it in years, but it used to be a gold-standard kind of program.

My Dad went to France with the Experiment in International Living in the 1930s. He had nothing but positive things to say about the experience. Don’t know how relevant that is to today’s program, but they certainly have been around for a long time.

I’ve heard only positive things about it. Experiment is associated with the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (a free exchange program that lets American high school students study in Germany for a year); everyone I know that went through the program has been incredibly happy with it.
