the field you are majoring in

First of all, what do u plan on majoring in?/ what do u major in? Is the field you are majoring in or planning to major in something you are truly interested in, or a major that your parents forced u into, or you chose it because of money or job security, etc? if you are in college, are u enjoying ur major or do you regret it? thanks.

I am majoring in bioengineering. As corny as it sounds, Jurassic Park first sparked my interest in the sciences. I love every aspect of biology and I don’t regret choosing it. My goal is to someday have my own island ruled by genetically modified dinosaurs lol. My parents are still trying to get me to go to med school, but there is no way I would want to become a doctor. I’d rather spend all day playing around in a lab than talking to patients about their problems.

computer science, computer engineering, or maybe mech engineering… hmms.

I feel the same way. It just seems fun to play around in a lab. CSI is just an awesome show, there are numerous other movies/shows that have to deal with being in a lab creating new stuff that I think are cool too.

I originally thought about Computer Science…then I decided Computer Engineering would be better because I’d get the prestige of saying “Hey everybody, I’m an engineer!” hahaha, nah, the real reason is because the CE does everything the CS student does, in addition to being able to make chips and such, so I figured I would have more career options if I chose CE. My prospective major is Computer Engineering…so I get some nice lab time designing and making the chips and such. The Bioengineering doesn’t sound bad either. Luckily, the school I want to go to is a major engineering school, so they have every single type of engineering you could want…and I know I want to do some sort of engineering.

The big question is: will I be accepted? I never really thought about it much, but the closer and closer the admissions decision deadline comes, I get more nervous because I think about all the students I am competing against, and I realize that my scores are just average…very nerve-racking. I really want to be accepted, ahhaha. I’ve been trying to impress them with my nice senior-year grades, but people say senior grades are not very important. It’s a shame that the one year my academic performance sucked was Junior year, which tends to be the most important year.

I’m going to major in biology. I am interested in this field, so it is my choice, and I hope to become a doctor.

My majors are Social Policy and African American Studies. Social Policy is a great major if you want to prepare for social work, journalism, law, government, research & development (R&D), public relations, health care or social services. My concentration is race & ethnicity and urban affairs. I like AAS because I want to enrich myself on African American Culture and plan to work around cultural groups. I like research.
