The Free Concert

Sure hope that the Inauguration Free Concert, Sunday, Jan 18, will be on CDs. (now being broadcast on our local PBS station. KOPB.

[HBO: We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial](http://www.hbo.com/weareone/) it should be rebroadcast at 7pm eastern

It was quite good. Also, it’s on HBO tv and it’s unscrambled so anyone with digital tv can get it.

Not free at all. Those of us without cable couldn’t see it. I’m ticked.

it was live on the internet. I think it will be rebroadcast on TV and online at 7pm. if you have broadband, you can watch it online

It was also broadcast live on NPR. What a great concert!

We loved it. I just checked the HBO site, and you can watch it (presumably for free) tonight on HBO.com at 7:00 and 11:00 Eastern time (same time as the rebroadcast on HBO).

Did you go, geezermom?

this show is playing on tv and online again

sue, where do I go online to find it? Thanks!

Go to hbo.com and it’s on the cover screen. You can watch most of the first rebroadcast now or catch the whole thing starting at 11:30 EST. (and they are showing it online again at 7 pacific time). It was awesome…great speakers and entertainment regardless of your politics.

[HBO: We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial](http://www.hbo.com/weareone/)

I’ve got it on the computer now - cute to see Obama singing along to American Pie. :)

oregonianmom: No, we didn’t go. I’m saving my stamina for Tuesday. Just watched a lot of it a second time, though.

I saw almost all of it–missed the beginning–on the online replay. Thanks to those who informed us of the site. It was great

Did anyone catch who was singing with Pete Seeger and Bruce Springsteen? Was it Woodie Guthrie’s grandson, or Pete Seeger’s? And it looked like Arlo over there on tambourine, although it’s hard to imagine that they would show more of him if so… I loved that most of all.

I was wondering the same - who was that guy? He looked familiar. (I didnt know Pete Seger was still alive.) If I was Michelle Obama I’d be giving out LOTS of hugs - The Boss, all of U-2, etc., etc.!

I think they said it was Pete Seeger’s grandson…

I have cable and was hoping to watch the concert, but my HBO channel is still blocked since I don’t subscribe. Am I supposed to be doing anything special to make this work?

Never mind – I just called Comcast. There was only one free broadcast earlier today. Later repeats are for subscribers only. Oh well!

“It was also broadcast live on NPR.”

Is NPR broadcast into Red States? (jk)

According to Arlo Guthrie’s Wikipedia entry, that was indeed him playing the tambourine, off to Springsteen’s left. (That hair is unmistakable. ) I can’t believe they basically left him out! Maybe he was supposed to be hitting a mark close to Springsteen and didn’t do it. The mystery of who the other guy was remains unsolved. Arlo has performing kids, so it could have been Woodie’s grandson or Pete’s. Pete Seeger is 89. Given that he has basically devoted his life to social justice and civil rights, this must mean a lot to him. It was great to see him up there.
