Did anybody watch? Any opinions on best-dressed or worst-dressed?

I thought Charlize Theron looked really pretty - so did Angelina, Michelle Williams, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara. I also liked Dianna Agron’s dress, but that girl would look good in a trash bag. Her dress was so unique.

Worst-dressed, imo (not my style) - Madonna, Claire Danes, Salma Hayek, Lea Michele. I wanted Lea to have different hair…

I was so happy Downton Abbey won - I love that show so much, but I am staying far away from the CC thread because I’m afraid of spoilers. “The Artist” sure won a lot!

I did not watch, but took a look at the red carpet slide show. To me, Madonna looked like a scaly mermaid poking from a pile of leaves; DH thought the dress was fabulous.

Although not a fan of lavender, I though Jessica Alba looked lovely and I thought that she and her husband were the most attractive couple there. Second favorite, Tilda Swinton. I thought the gown was fabulous and different. The hair and makeup - meh.

I agree somemom.
Angelina needs to EAT!!! I mean she looks so thin …maybe anorexia? Of course so many of the other ladies are really thin, but she was off the charts. Her arms looked awful and her hip bones stuck out through the satin of the dress. If she is doing this on purpose, that is not a look I want my daughter to emulate. If she has problems, let’s hope she can solve them healthfully.

I always like Kate Winslet. Not only was she born on my BD, but she has a better attitude re: her body than some. Her dress wasn’t my favorite though.

Watched for Ricky Gervais…who certainly wasn’t as outrageous as promoted. However, the dress that made me hit rewind and pause on the DVR was the black cut out on the woman from “Homeland”.

Madonna needs a reality check. She managed to diss her award in her speech and later rambled about how foreign film savvy she is. Who could like what she has become?

Glad to see Homeland win a couple of awards - truly excellent show and Claire Danes is the best actress on television these days. Also glad to see Peter Dinklage’s win for Game of Thrones.

I laughed at Meryl Streep’s version of the “Taylor Swift OMG I can’t believe I won something” schtick.

OMG gave an F to Tilda for her outfit. Boo. I thought her dress/blazer combo looked stunning, classy and was a breath of fresh air among the sea of strapless gowns and sequins. Meryl’s outfit did deserve the low grade.

I thoughth Tilda Swinton’s gown was stunning. Unfortunately it had Tilda Swinton’s head at the top. She’s has an interesting face and could be so attractive, but she goes out of her way to look strange and creepy. I guess it’s a way to assure she’ll get attention.

Vibram Fivefingers made an appearance at the Globes. Coming to a fancy store near you: Jimmy Choo for Vibram (already made Uggs and Hunter rainboots).

Morena Baccarin was on Firefly back in the day… she is so pretty. So is the female lead in “The Artist.” Honestly, why does anyone like Madonna? The woman is a piece of work. You could tell Elton was mad she won!

I’m being super catty, but I don’t understand the appeal of Jessica Biel… Her face looks really manly to me. I love Meryl Streep but thought her look was a bit too casual. Tilda Swinton also creeps me out a bit (the makeup/hair combo). Claire Danes has zero boobs so I always wish she would wear things that disguise that and flatter her figure more.

I also noticed Angelina’s arms - super, super skinny. I have read before that she is not very interested in food and is one of those “I’m too busy to eat” people which I can understand… She would look better if she put on some weight though.

Every time I see Kelsey Grammar I think of Camille… Can’t believe his new wife is expecting twins!

I still like Ricky Gervais. His show “An Idiot Abroad” is nuts.

In my opinion the show had too much Madonna but I know they did it to get ratings. Her acceptance speech was extremely long and it is bad when Robert Ebert (who reviews movies for a living) had to look to see what the movie was actually about. Honestly the Original Song category was a mess since it was missing songs from The Muppets like ‘Life’s A Happy Song’ and ‘A Man or a Muppet?’

I was extremely happy to see Homeland pick up Best Drama and Best Actress. I wish Damian Lewis could’ve won for Best Actor because Kelsey Grammar didn’t deserve his award. You know the HFPA is screwed up when Breaking Bad wasn’t nominated for Best Drama.

George Clooney is forever not caring at awards show. That is why I like him still.

Meryl Streep got all my laughs last night. With her extremely suprised face when she won to her cursing when she forgot her glasses. Favorite moment of the night goes to Meryl’s husband handing the glasses to George Clooney and then handing them off to David Fincher who was extremely confused and lost at how he would get the glasses to Meryl.

My runner up for favorite moment was William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman’s little song before presenting Best Supporting Actress. The pre-written crap is extremely bland so they gave a very much suprise to what can be seen as a bland awards show.

I don’t really put anything into the Golden Globes because they are known to nominate and award their favorites just to get to see them on stage. The HFPA is 90 foreign journalists nominating and voting while the Oscars includes over 6000 members who actually make movies for a living.
