@Mom22039
that sink is only 27" wide.
not the size that @momtogkc is looking for.
The specs should show the size of the cabinet, not the sink itself. The 27" Blanco in the link fits cabinets with outside widths of 33 inches. A 36" sink would require a 40" cabinet⦠must be a custom cabinet.
I opted for an unevenly split bowl PrĆ©cis sink in the same Silgranit speckled āwhiteā color. Love it. Very easy to clean after washing chicken.
Thank you everyone! The cabinet is not custom but it is 42 inches wide, there is a 35.5 inch sink in there now. I am going to narrow it down today and hopefully order by tomorrow. I also need a bar sink but I am not too concerned about that one because it is off in the corner.
Elkay makes nice SS sinks.

I made sure the bar sink and the big sink are of the same style. Thatās where Precis came into play, and I am glad I went with it. Also like that Silgranit is silent. SS can be noisy, so look for sinks with soundproofing underlayer if the sound of dripping water would drive you nuts (it will do that for me). Like this one by Kohler:
Thanks @BunsenBurner, I was originally looking at Elkay and Kohler then started branching out to all of these other brands I had never heard of. Yes, I will get the same style bar sink for sure, just not worried if it is a cheaper version since it is really never used. (we probably could have gotten rid of that area all together but it wold have ended up as wasted space and it is nice to have somewhere to store wine/liquor and show off our wedding crystal!)
Floor is starting today! They will start in the entryway, a little bit of the front hall and the living room. Next week they will move back towards the laundry room, family room and hall by the bedrooms. Then they say they will rip out the kitchen cabinets Tuesday or Wednesday so they can then finish the floors in the kitchen and dining room (they share a threshold so they want to make sure they line up otherwise they would have done dining room today.) No idea if they will ever stick to this schedule of course!
They know my mom and aunt are coming for graduation in two weeks and they say they will at least have my floors done and kitchen cabinets installed (no counter or anything), Iām hoping that is true because my mom would love to see everything!
After going through every one of the sinks and brands you guys suggested I couldnāt seem to find many that were just right (most too small.) I finally settled on this one which I am a little nervous because I had never heard of it but it does have the ledges which seem great.
Going to go with a different brand bar sink because the Nantuckets are so expensive and we donāt really use it, just need to pick the size- 12x16 or 14x16.

Now I am starting to look at faucets for both sinks.
Oh, and I think I have picked my counter - it is Pompeii Quartz which I had not seen yet but a friend had it and I loved it. I wanted something white and grey and could only seem to find brands I liked that were mostly white. My friend had white cabinets and white backsplash like I will have so we basically are going to match now - luckily we donāt have a lot of overlapping friends haha! It is prettier in person than in this picture I think. It came down to Eclipse and Bianco Napoli but I ma 99% sure I am going with Eclipse. Of course my fabricator does not have a relationship with that store so I have to get him to go open an account or something.

I really like the Eclipse.
Now that we have peeled the giant mirror off the wall, I am facing the choice of either patching it up and painting or doing something more fun with it, like tile or those Moduar Arts panels that @coralbrookās last client salivated after (the company is in Seattle so I can probably swing by and pick some up). Hmmm⦠what would you do? The mirror is the Electric Mirror Silhouette.
Iāve been picking out finish materials for the small vacation houses I mentioned upthread.
For the shower walls I couldnāt pass these up at $2.49/sf: https://www.google.com/search?q=onda+blanco+tile&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiW2ZaPwoLiAhVnJzQIHeDeDxUQ_AUoAXoECAwQAQ&biw=1024&bih=672#imgrc=7J9WZXOcgEFIJM
Because the bathrooms cabinets are very small we decided to add cabinets from IKEA over the toilets: https://m2.ikea.com/us/en/p/godmorgon-wall-cabinet-with-1-door-resjoen-white-10390999/
We also found an LED lighted medicine cabinet for about a hundred bucks: https://www.aosom.com/item/homcom-30-x-21-led-sliding-bathroom-mirror-medicine-wall-cabinet~834-048.html
I just had to tear up one of these āgod sent us your wayā letters!!! It was insulting. God? And if anyone shows up on my door step with a pre-filled sale/purchase agreement, I will call the police.
In our neck of the woods, developers fly drones over peopleās yards to determine which properties can be targeted by these āmessengers of godā letters⦠God probably really likes to see new townhomes popping up everywhere.
@Sherpa, I like your cabinet over toilet idea. I think I am going to steal it.
Love the beach wave style tile. Itās very popular in our San Diego area. And the style of the over toilet cabinet is interesting, although I donāt personally like over the toilet storage. But, most impressed with the price on the LED mirror. I was searching for an economical one for last client but could only find a large one at IKEA
Costco had a few LED mirrors under $100. The prices of those LED things are going down!
Posted this on Coralbrroks thread by accidentā¦
I am finally ready to order my kitchen counters (should have done it a long time ago!) I thought I was set on Pompeii Quartz but now I found two more I like. Has anybody had any experience with MSI or Wilsonart? I read a few not so great things about MSI but then lots of good reviews as well. Canāt find much on the other two. Nobody will give me exact prices but it looks like Wilsonart and MSI are the cheaper ones and Pompeii is a mid priced brand (they told me LG Viatera was the most expensive which surprised me for some reason.)
Right now my porcelain floors are still going in, for some reason only one poor guy was workmen here for two days so he did not make much headway! They are supposed to finish the living room and grout today plus they are about down with the entryway, front hall and half of the laundry room hall.
Tomorrow is the day they rip out my kitchen cabinets so I need to get packing, I have tons more to box up tonight.
No experience with those⦠have you priced out Cambria?
As far as kitchen demo goes, I highly recommend NOT overpacking the things you take out of your cupboards. Keep whatever you might use while your kitchen is in ruins easily accessible (coffee maker, plates, cups, etcā¦).
@momtogkc - did you survive the kitchen demo? Hope the reno will have smooth sailing for you!
@BunsenBurner We are still in the middle of everything. In fact I am locked in my bedroom with my dog right now trying to keep her away from the floor guys working in the kitchen - she seems to know right when they put down the thinset and steps right in it!
We are only a day or two behind the schedule they planned. The floor is about half way done, they came this morning to finish the kitchen floors so they can grout Monday. I had my first major mistake with the grout - I picked one that liked like it matched but it came out way too light. They had finished the living room (which is pretty big) and the laundry hallway by the time we noticed. Not sure what we are going to do, I guess they have to rip all the grout up and start over? Ugh. One guy said they can paint over it but I donāt know if that is the best idea. I donāt know how much this mistake is going to cost me but Iām sure it wonāt be cheap. Had to pick the new grout this morning. I am afraid it is too dark but everyone kept telling me to g darker now that I know it dries lighter than it looks on the samples.
I picked the Pompeii Eclipse counters. My contractor told me he did not like the quality of MSI or Wilsonart. I had one other one - LG Viatera Aura - that I really liked but it was the most expensive and I read bad reviews online. Iām going back to the house where i first saw the counters for a party today - hope I still like it now that I picked it.
Yesterday my friend invited me to see the new house she is building. She already lives in my dream house which she custom built and is gigantic, now she is building one twice as big on the water. The new house is so incredible, it makes my stuff look so boring. Then again she spent the more on her kitchen sink faucets than I did on my whole bathroom remodel so I am OK with it -haha! Fun to imagine what you would do with no budget at all though!
Not a fan of that faucet, at any price. I suppose separate sprayers are cool and retro now?
WT hey? ? That completely knocked my socks off! Almost 8 grand for this ugliness? Lol.
I canāt believe my Cambria countertops are already almost 2 years old⦠I still love them. Your countertop choice looks great!
Hah - the faucet is not my style either but it is so her style that they will look great in there (she has two big sinks next to each other so two of those faucets!) I donāt remember which color she had, some of those are over $10,000!
I will say even though she spends money like that she is the most generous person I know as well. She does a ton of charity stuff both by donating and working. Once in a while I get to be her charity. She had a beautiful bluestone front walk and patio that I loved, when I had to do my tiny front walkway she gave me all of the leftover. Yesterday one time I said I liked a tile she said who much do you need, I have tons left. I might have to go shopping for a kitchen backsplash over there.
