@notrichenough , everything looks gorgeous.
@momofsenior1 It looks great! (Flickr hint - if you click on âCamera Rollâ, then click on a single photo, a little toolbar appears at the bottom. If you click âEditâ on the toolbar, then you can edit the title and the comment, and change some other things like who can see it. On a laptop anyway, I donât try to use a phone for this stuff).
@Consolation Thanks!
Thanks for the flickr tip!
Great pictures!!! Everything looks fabulous!!
@momofsenior1 - great looking remodel!
@notrichenough - ditto. Are you adding a retractable patio cover?
Wow! Those are gorgeous looking. I especially like the shower floor.
@BunsenBurner The deck faces due east, so by mid-afternoon much of it is in the shade. And thereâs some large trees that offer some morning shade. So I donât think we really need a patio cover. It wonât happen this year, anyway.
@momofsenior1 we used the same tiles in both our bathrooms. I really love them!
I was thinking more along the lines of protection from any drizzle from above!
You are a saint. I would have been apoplectic if whatâs been going on with your job happened to me.
Workers taking vacations in the middle of a job - just no. Only H and I get to do that. Weâve gone away several times over the years during remodeling projects and work just continues in our absence. They just call if something needs my attention.
My momâs new dishwasher wasnât installed properly but it wasnât until about 2 months later, when puddles started appearing in a few places on her floors did she realize there was an issue. It had seeped beneath all her floors and down the walls into the apartment below her.
Those huge fans were blowing 24/7 for over a week (and of course I had chosen to visit her then.) Fortunately she got a very nice settlement from her ins.co.
Then last year during Irma her den had water come in somehow, ge in behind the walls and under the carpet in that room. Another mess, but insurance once again came through and everything was taken care of pretty quickly.
I clicked on all your picture links but only got blank page. ![]()
Maybe itâs my IPad.
@momofsenior1 , nice kitchen! Everything looks great.
@emilybee My contractor found me sobbing on the kitchen floor frantically mopping up the water. It wasnât pretty. I will say that despite all the problems and set backs, heâs been wonderful. Just a kind hearted guy that clearly wants to make it right. Itâs really only been the kitchen guy that has handled himself with such disregard for their customer that I want to scream.
Thank you!
I love how clutter free your kitchen looks, @momofsenior1. And the look on the face of the doggie is priceless⊠lol. âMom, I swear, I did not make that giant puddle! It is the dishwasher! The dishwasher!â
I love all your choices. The kitchen pendants really add some pizzazz. Inquiring minds want to knowâŠwhat is going to be the fun color for the front door??? To make it pop? Maybe something close to your cobalt blue kitchen backsplash??
Maybe @coralbrook has some leftover paint from her door painting project!
Thanks!
DW wanted blue, and we looked at a ton of blue samples, but the siding is a muted greyish-green, and we couldnât find a blue that I liked that I thought went well with the siding.
Currently the leading contender is a Behr color called Rialto. It kind of looks like raspberry sorbet:

One of their palettes contains a greenish color (âSage Wisdomâ lol) which is fairly close to the siding, so I guess that means the Rialto would be a good color to use?

Colors are hard. ![]()
Try Behr Catalina Coast. It might not work, but it looked great on the little house I did for the young couple. It was a grey green body. Love the fun raspberry color also
Hmm, interesting! Iâll run that by DW.
The cabinet doors have arrived! The end of the refacing project is near.
OMG, I love the color. They are still in a giant box that the kitchen guys wheeled in, so I might regret saying this when they go up on the boxes⊠but anything is better than the ugly peeling paint!
