The hottest race in the US history (NOT a political thread)

My, oh my! In a local town with 12 (! used to be 7) residents, the incumbent, self-proclaimed mayor-for-life, is barely clinging to his mayoral post! Amazing! Take a read :)

[Grace mayoral race heats up](http://nwnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7007:grace-mayoral-race-heats-up&catid=34:news&Itemid=72)

The article is a riot. Teeny town politics… what a nice diversion from national news… Here is a small quote:

More in the article :)

Reminds me of a mayoral race in H’s home town (technically a “village”) several years ago. The race was won by one vote and the person who lost took it to court where it ended up going all the way up to the state supreme court. Obviously legal fees far outweighed any financial compensation of the position.

My uncle woke up one morning about 10 years ago to find he was elected mayor of their small town. There was one woman running and no one in town liked her so they wrote in my uncle’s name and he got more votes then she did :D. Served 2 terms as Mayor after that.

Hilarious that the town of Grace is so small that the two candidates for mayor share the same campaign manager. I’m sure it’s much more efficient that way: no need to guess what the other side’s campaign strategy is going to be.

If I’m reading this correctly, a quarter of the town’s population are public officials: mayor, chief of police, and treasurer.
