the "I'm still in the "being reviewed" status" thread

…and i applied for financial aid but i don’t think im going to go through with it…does that mean they won’t make the final decision for me until they get the missing documents for financial aid?

ahh

HKCouture…regarding that UG Part 1 fee, I believe that was the $10 fee that was required when submitting the Part 1, if I remember correctly, that was for those submitting by Dec 10.

It’s possible your payment didn’t go through, you forgot to pay it, or that they didn’t receive your total fee (I think it was $65) in that you may have only paid $55 instead.

I would give them a call to clear that up, and if necessary, remit by credit card over the phone. Not having paid the full admission fee might affect your application.

Thank you sequoia!..but i just realized i have been checking a different status website that has been more vague with me than the one that you sign on to actually do your app…and it says im not missing anything…and it says the date my app was last updated (had nooo idea about this…my first time seeing this version ha)…so im pretty confused

Sequoia is right HKcouture. I had the exact same problem so I called them and they said just send in a $10 check. Make sure to put your student ID on it somewhere!

hmm…do you think i should just send in a check anyways? to be totally safe…?

i know even if i already paid the 10 dollars (i dont remember haha…for some reason i think i thought part 1 was free…), i would rather give them the extra 10 instead of being penalized for not paying that fee…

but at this point i am just giving up and not really caring…however…it is exciting knowing that 2 of my friends qualified for the presidential scholarship…and 4 others were accepted haha

Well, when I saw that I owed the part 1 application fee I was sure that I had already paid it. When I called them they said that the reason they needed it is because the check didn’t go through, so I sent it to them again. So my advice to you would be to just send that $10 to be safe. It would be pointless to fill out the entire application, pay the $55 app fee, and then realize you did not get in because you didn’t pay that measly $10.

Uhm…is it bad that I’ve been in the “still being reviewed” status since 2/10? lol

I’m still in review since 3.14 but really updated like 3.8 and I got accepted today in Northern NJ.

i just got put in review like 2 days ago… I JUST WANT THAT BIG RED ENVELOPE!!! AAHHHH

ok, this is really driving me crazy now - my status date just updated again. From 3/19 to 3/22. Except it really went on “in review” on 3/7. o.O;

Oh whatever does it mean~?

Spring break is not helping either. More free time to stress out about it…

Hyakku:

Has the date been changed since your acceptance?

hm… my status was changed to under review early march, but the date on it still says 1/15 which was 2 weeks after i submitted my app and it said that my app has already gone through a preliminary review. hopefully it’s not a bad sign. and good luck to everyone!

is changing to in review on 3/9 a bad sign?

ermmm. mine changed into review from “received mid year” on 3/20… and today the date changed to 3/24 but still in review…

what does this mean? o_O??

^^^

That’s been a good sign as of late I think.

help me with this one:
my status was flip-flopping from prelim review to in review. then it changed to in review and hasn’t changed back for a couple of weeks now, but the status says it was last updated on…get this…1/6. i mean if that doesn’t scream rejected, i don’t know what does.

additionally, in early february, i received the no scholarship letter, as well as another letter requesting my parent’s tax returns be faxed. the same day i also got an email requesting the tax forms be faxed asap, which i did. i checked my status and it said in was in prelim review and that sometimes they request fall grades and that i could submit them online, which i did. i did not follow through with a hard copy via mail because i had a grade that needed to be changed (it was an a- and should have been an a and i reported it as an a).

basically, everyone i know of that applied from my hs has been accepted and they are cream of the crop students.

i smell a rejection. any comments?

Sounds like a rejection to me as well. Wouldn’t give up hope and I wish you the best, but that’s my .02

I don’t think they would ask for your parent’s tax return twice if they had rejected you. I actually think that might be a good sign. Good luck!

thanks calgal. i thought it was a good sign to request my financial information, but alas, no word. i must have been wrong…again. darn! :)

kittycat what are your stats?
