I have been in the “your application is being reviewed” status since 1/14/2008 … i think they fell asleep on my application

before it had been “received fall grades” since 3/4… cant remember what it was before 3/4

i hate overanalyzation.
this makes me want to throw up a little
lol.

My status was stuck in: “We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application” from 28 january but it changed yesterday to :
“Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.” i am international which means i was never in preliminary review and i applied by the scholarship deadline. i am also very anxious to get my decision since usc is my top choice. plz tell me what do you think this status change means…

From what iv noticed, all international’s statuses jumped straight from " we have received" to " being reviewd " so don’t wrry we’re all on the same page.

What if your status is this?

We have received your application, and we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items. Due to the high volume of application documents we receive, allow sufficient processing time.

…errr…it means you have missing items…click on the link and follow the instructions…although its way too late to be doing that now…

Did USC contact you in anyway regarding missing documents?

Yes, I received the letter, dated Janurary 31st, on Feburary 20 something (since I live in Australia) and I had it sorted out by Feb 28th.

oh k…then its fine…dun worry…they probably didnt bother to change the status

2190 SAT, 3.9/4.4 GPA, in top 2% of class, national merit finalist, killer essays, good letters of rec., middle-class, president of diversity club, editor-in-chief of newspaper, two years varsity sport…

why haven’t i gotten in yet?!?!?! haha, i never thought i would get so frustrated over college admissions. i am so not this kind of person. see what admissions does to us? aaaah! hang in there everyone.

jayell27, maybe because youre pompous?

Not to be a prick, but jayell…you make it sound like you’re some outstanding candidate who’s head and shoulders above the rest of the applicant pool.

News flash: You’re not.

his post wasn’t really that arrogant…

apparently sarcasm (and gender, for that matter) is difficult to transmit on a college-admissions message board. rudeness, however, is not. even if i wasn’t kidding, my post was nothing you couldn’t see on every other thread on this board. (thanks thesmiths for pointing that out. also, “girlfriend in a coma” is one of my favorite songs.)

? I really don’t care, but dude, it’s pretty ridiculous to expect people to view that sort of comment as sarcastic. Especially when, as you said yourself, that sort of post pops up on here in “every other thread.”

Whatever though. Good luck on USC, you definitely have good stats.

uhh… no offense, but are the rest of yall just jealous or something??

after i read the posts on “you’re pompous (ooh look. SAT word… on a FRICKING FORUM. look whose arrogant now)” and blah blah blah, i re-read jayell’s post… and not only did I not sense a single word of arrogance but I rather felt his post was encouraging to the rest of us that if we have good stats, it doesn’t mean we should already be in; and for the other side, it doesn’t mean you are defintely rejected with bad stats…

acarey… i’m sorry. but read your own post:

thats rather quite rude, do you not think so? And it’s definitely NOT true… he IS an outstanding candidate whose (at least I spelled it right) head and shoulders ARE AND SHOULD BE above the rest of the applicant pool.

Why not? He worked hard to get to that point. You’re not one to talk and strip him of his well-deserved position. You have no right for that News Flash. What world are you living in? NeverNeverLand?

:T just stating the facts.

“see what admissions does to us? aaaah! hang in there everyone.” that part was the sarcasm indicator. i guess it wasn’t obvious enough. my bad. anyway, you’re right, acarey617. this application process is stressing people out and i probably shouldn’t make light of the situation. i used my stats because they are common among the average person on this board, and you’re exactly right–cc-er’s stats are good. my sarcasm was intended to comfort, not to brag. (i truly believe that the people i’ve seen worrying the most have the best shots at getting in, just from their stats.) but maybe i’m just an optimist. or maybe i should have been a little more extreme with the sarcasm. hey, i’m not applying to the groundlings here. just trying to get into college.

no one is a prick. we’re all on the same side here.

Word up. And hopefully come March 28 or whenever the hell that day is, we’ll all have big-ass red envelopes in our mailboxes. Good luck to all of you.

amen to that! i’ve been checking my mail/status everyday!

haha. maybe tomorrow will be a good day. :P

does anyone know what the “Insufficient UG Part 1 Fee - Dom” is???

i just checked my status online and it says i still have to turn that in…no idea what it is/havent gotten a notices from them
