<p>I know you meant to post elsewhere, but wanting to go to Columbia is an impossible pursuit of happiness. At least it sometimes seems like that…</p>
<p>Is it impossible to be happy at CU, or is CU happiness in and of itself?</p>
<p>From the perspective of a high school student, CU is theoretically happiness per se. If I ever do manage to get myself into the place, I can then concern myself with actually attempting to be happy, getting great grades, and figuring out how to get the cash to occasionally buy meals in places other than John Jay. Or maybe I’m just too cynical.</p>
<p>Ha, it’s actually cheaper to buy a meal off campus than in John Jay. As a freshman, you’ve already bought it so you just eat there but once you’re free from the meal plan, you probably wouldn’t pay for an $11 meal when you could get other food for much cheaper.</p>
<p>…yeah, but that meal would be like Ollie’s rather than a full, well-balanced meal with lots of veggies and protein.</p>
<p>parents get their money’s worth paying for a meal plan for their kid. they may gain pounds but they’ll at least usually get a bunch of healthy stuff.</p>
