You know how every season there’s an “in” present? (Think Instapot, for example.) In my minimalism mode lately, I’ve been out of the shopping loop. What are the trendy, “in” things people will be buying/getting this year?
I think Air Fryers are hot this year (pun intended?) They had lots of them at different price points piled up in Walmart.
My D has an air fryer on her list this year. Already purchased and waiting to be wrapped! Are All Birds ‘last year’ at this point? (Another D has those on her list so we’re clearly not sensitive to what’s “in”.)
@collage1 re All Birds - Given that I literally, five minutes ago, purchased my very first pair of All Birds, I think it’s likely they are last century!
Lol @momo2x2018 on the allbirds comment!
Rothy’s and Birdies are other brands that I can think of. Both are flats (shoes)
My niece who is more aware of these things than my kids (who aren’t really into the most new thing) gifted her brother a pair of Krewe sunglasses that are apparently very trendy in some circles.
I know that it seems that sorel boots are everywhere. They even have dupes at target.
I’ll throw this one out there for the college students-my D has confirmed that Doc Martens are the “in” thing… Personally, I think they are pretty ugly and look like Frankenstein boots-guess my age is showing…
I had to google Allbirds. I’m definitely out of the loop.
My 31 year old daughter just got some Doc Martins – in Manhattan. So you know they’re cool again, lol.
I love Doc Martins, always have. Sadly, I’m probably too old to look cool in them now, lol.
@taverngirl go for it! I am mid 50’s and I wear ripped jeans and lots of stuff that probably is deemed “too young” for me. Just stopped worrying about what people think of me at some point in the past few years, haha.
This is so timely! I have an old (25+ years old) pair of Doc Martins (they look brand new) and I actually love them! My 24 year old niece is always sweetly “suggesting” I give them to her - she says they are “way cool and… vintage”
She wants them SO bad!
My eldest had toddler sized flower Doc Martens at age 2/3. I think I still have them somewhere.
I think it’s funny how Doc Martens and Birkenstocks have become trendy and so mainstream yet my kids who have worn both probably won’t want to wear them anymore.
I had to google Doc Martens. Seriously.
D2 has several pairs of Doc Martens from years ago. She doesn’t where them now since they are too trendy.
@showmom858 she should sell them, haha. I’m sure they would go fast.
I just looked through four black friday ads - weighted blankets seem all the rage
As an aside, I bought my granddaughter some cute uggs, and noticed that uggs now also has a discounted brand (maybe made from cheaper sheep, LOL) called Koolaburra. They have a faux fur lining, which on first glance one might think that might make vegans happy, except the outside is still leather (suede). Has anyone seen/tried these lower cost boots? Are uggs still “in” or seriously passe’?
I agree that weighted blankets are an “in” gift item.
I never (nor did my girls) get on the Ugg train.
One of my daughter’s requested a specific pair of ray-bans and that seems like another brand that has stood the test of time. One of my friends pulled out a pair from the 70s and they’re a very popular style.
Goodr sunglasses are in- they are only about $25 but we’ll-made and have tons of colors.
