Well St. Andrews and Warwick are excellent unis so Bath doesn’t matter. Did you not think of trying for LSE?

And my Pton interview went … OK!
Not much of a conversation, I believe

Oh what was she like… What did she ask you?

I have mine in a couple of hours!

^ I wonder if I was talking to a automated voice response system of a university rather than a person.
I almost expected her next line would be “Press 1 for my next question … Press 2 if you want to ask something”.

EDIT: Yeah, I know, I’m exaggerating (a bit too much :D).

@Violator
In a four year course, yes. But a three year course in the UK is cheaper than a four year course in the US. But then, my course is a masters so it’ll be the same.

@arunemo
I can’t.
I have CBSE.

matlab? .

Congrats, Chromey! What’s your condition? One of my friends got an offer from Warwick yesterday and his condition is a 40/45 lol

Tiyas, 2280 is more than enough. Don’t take the SAT again. Conc on more significant stuff

Hey guys, just checking to see whats up with the Class of '15. I’m hoping the EDs went well and goodluck with the RDs ![]()
Anybody coming to Penn from the ED pool?

also, couple of things about the other posts on this page-
- Most interviews, especially pton’s don’t have a significant effect, so don’t worry about it.
- 2280 on the sat? Seriously, you have better stuff to do than retaking it if you are half as intelligent as your score shows.

@aniruddhc
I applied for MMORSE.
The condition is 86% average in the CBSE Boards and 90% in Mathematics.
It’s not extremely tough but I’d still have to work hard cause I’ve lost a lot of precious time doing my US applications. But then, my priority is still the US.

@gary are you sure about the interview? I have mine in a couple of minutes waiting for the call!! Also why particularly Ptons?

Hi Gary! How’s it going? Dunno if you remember me, the first comment you made whe I joined was “I don’t like pixies” haha. Yep, I still remember. Something about some game. :S

Anyway, from what I know, Pton interviews are quite important as compared to peer schools like H and Y where they matter comparitively less. I hope what you said is true though.
Mine was a phone interview and it was good but not as good as I would want. ~1 hr.

PS- And I know I have PMs to reply to. I promise I’ll reply when I’m not on phone and properly logged in. Apologies.

That’s long enough. Mine. ~20 minutes

Nah, not the length. I wish it had been more ‘something’. It was just question answer. I guess I’m being choosy.
And he didn’t say “You’re an awesome applicant, you’ll definitely shine” like all my other interviewers did. I’m so disappointed. Just Kidding ![]()
Gotta log off now!

Interviews are only really useful iff you bring out something drastically new which would not have come out of applications themselves. Thats what I got out of endless stalking of interview-threads, and talking to other applicants/accepted students etc. And the fact that my pton interviewer didn’t reallly ask me much and kept talking about the school and why i should come there 80% of the time -_-
And don’t worry, I still hate you, pixie.

“hate” is a strong word. As strong as “love”. Don’t use it so lightly. Just an idle remark. :)

Clear your inbox now Pix.

I really had no idea that Tusshar Kapoor graduated from UMich!

Funny story about Princeton interviews - My brother was offered an interview out of town 7-8 days before the decision. (he had to give up 2 out of his 3 days of Math board preparation break). He stayed at the interviewer’s house overnight. So, I think Princeton heavily weighs interviews on a case by case basis (but not for everyone). He was accepted.

It is very normal for international students accepted to Harvard to have been interviewed two times. Once in Jan-Feb, and once about 10-15 days before the decision. Out of HYP Harvard really does care about interviews. Especially for internationals.

Yale (bro), Brown(me) - offered one interview each for mine and my brother’s acceptances.

Harvard offered him no interview for a spot on the waitlist which he refused.

Duke(me), Northwestern(bro) did not offer interviews and accepted us anyway.

Sometimes, especially when it takes place in mid-march, an interview can be a make or break thing.

^I suppose both of you applied together in the same year?

Out of town, that’s very rare nowadays, with Skype taking over.
