How did you manage a 2160 SAT if youre Toefl is so low? I mean SAT english is tougher

Hey, this is just a hypothetical situation but if you got into carnegie Mellon and Cornell Engg, which would you choose. Carnegie is ranked better in terms of engg program, but Cornell is an ivy.

dunno , frankly speaking i am seriously wondering what went wrong with toefl . do u think i should appear once again.
anyway, what do u think of my choice of universities
shruti

carnegie university

“dunno , frankly speaking i am seriously wondering what went wrong with toefl . do u think i should appear once again.

It might be a bit late now, but anyways if your CR and Writing scores are above 600 in the SAT, then you should be fine.

I’d take CMU if I was purely into tech and stuff. Would go for Cornell if I wanted more Liberal arts based education or if research isn’t that important.

Shruti I dont think u should send in the TOEFL because 230 TOEFL is like getting cheap on the admission officers adn 2160 SAT I already qualifies u for a waiver if you have ok Critical reading (like 600+) and dont worry last year no one sent the TOEFL results and this year also I think I am the only one sending them (btw what did u do in TOEFL I mean I just went and gave the exam and got 287…it really is very easy…anyways) No need to retake it now.just a waste of money and effort.
Your choice of universities is sure shot admission if you dont want financil aid or scholarship.

nah…don waste ur money on that…u do hve gr8 SAT

thanks guys. btw where r all of u from

but all these uni do want toefl anyway
???

Nope like that is what all say …
toefl is not compulsory …though as said so,.

Most places u will get a waiver based upon the Cr score in sat …and for 1-3 university u dont get a waiver …it will still be fine…like they wont care a hell lot abt the toefl score… It actually doesnt matter and is insignificant

yeah I’d say you go with SM’s advice shruti. Its a bit too late to re register for TOEFL and even if u could there is no point in taking it as you have good SAT’s.
Also as I said before last year almost no one submitted them.

I am from Dehra Dun.
