The Indian Thread (TiT) # 14

Done vampiro! Now you just need to approve me. :)

cant control myself…so i m posting here again
I would like to know about the solo hindi music performance… Do the US Universities accept that?

yes and they will love it. go for it.

Just to infuse some life into this thread… Opinions on laloo going out in Bihar?

Anyone applying to JHU from here? Is it worth it? Stupid essays too…it’s on my “only if I have time left” list.

Good for Bihar, good for the country

I was watching Rajya Sabha the other day and these guys were going at each other like cats and dogs. The speaker had to stop the television feed! LOL, sometimes I wonder where this country is going…

…to the dogs

I m very happy that Nitish is our CM now.(I m from Bihar)
He is a promising person. But I want Laloo to be the Railway Minister (I get some petty gains from his post  )

.

*~asaatvik : “The stuff we do in school is the antithesis of what I thought science would be!” *

Synthesis:
Do go to school, and if you love science, don’t do the stuffs there!

*~ asaatvik : “I was watching Rajya Sabha the other day and these guys were going at each other like cats and dogs. The speaker had to stop the television feed! LOL, sometimes I wonder where this country is going…” *

When people who have a vision for the country, leave the country, those that remain will be those that you see in the Parliament!
Ask not where the country is going, ask where you are going! If you cannot assume and take up the responsibilty for the nation and the happenings inside it, then you definitely do not have any moral, or any other, right to condemn the happenings in the state or nation. It is in this context that I am going to drag in one CCer of the yester-year, who is currently at Princeton, who had opposed the communal carnage in his state while it was on by all means that he could as one of the future citizens of this country, before he had even expressed his vehement contempt for the authorities that puported, promoted and executed the carnage in Gujarat. Adides deserves to comment on the issues that rocked the nation in 2002, because he had played a role in it that he felt to be right.

As for the current walk-outs in the Indian Parliament, who is to be blamed for it : the Opposition led by BJP or the untrustworthy hooligans in the UPA, like Mr. Natwar Singh who has been correctly kicked out by Sonia Gandhi. In this context, one must also analyse critically, by both Reductionism and Gestaltism, if those who currently raise hue and cry over the Volcker report are “clean”. An introspection by them unto themselves will reveal many notable names like Bangaru Laxman taking money in front of camera that was transmitted all over the nation and outside also. What happened to Thehelka? It will also come to apparency the allocation of over 2000 petrol pumps and gas stations to their party members. What about those who died in Lucknow during a BJP party campaign for the then PM? Is there any one raising any voice on these issues? People are more worried about the morality of a statement made by an actress about pre-marital sex for females.

Given the current constitution of the Parliament, it’s only the Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Chidambaram and The Left Front whose hands are still clean of immoral dirt.

In a few years, all those mentioned above will cease to exist. Who will take over them, after them? People like them, or like us? Their own clan, or ours?

Shabin I m sure ur essays will be rocking… btw, I have an error in my Yahoo! Messenger… thats why I cant chat with u right now

What is that supposed to mean?

Why should I support something in which I see no future? Call me a traitor or a pessimist or narrow-minded or whatever…but if the grass is greener outside the country, the politicans of **today/b need to infuse that spirit in me - to stay in India and work for India’s progress. Lol, I know you are going to say that it comes from within yada yada yada… but I diasgree. At the end, every human being has selfish motives. I have mine too - I want to go abroad, have better opportunites, standard of living etc. Now it is the nation’s/politicians’/teachers’/parents’ job to convince me to give these up and stay here. If they can’t do that, they fail not me.

Anyway, in today’s age I don’t think it matters where you live/work/earn/eat/vote. You take from the world and you give back to the world. And you can do that from within your country or from anywhere else in the world.

EDIT: I went through your post again, and I must say that you sound a bit carried away by the idea of politics and democracy (as all great leaders have been at one point or another). Yet, you have repeated the same arguments that I have heard time and again. And I didn’t buy them before and I don’t buy them now. To put it a nushell: you have to convince me that what you want me to do (i.e. work for the country) is worth doing. And as of now, I am not convinced.

Man how boring can u people be… if u do know … u are discussing something that crated havoc in a thread called “”" WHY I WANT TO LEAVE MY BL**** MOTHERLAND""

Be practical and think …
Also as per as what few CCers have commented …yeah we now only discuss the admision stuff on CC…nothing else…

The Indian Thread is no more what it used to be… infact all regular posters have started taking time off here and working out stuff in messenger …as of sevreal disadvantages and undue loss they may suffer due to the forum posting…
I mean no offence but i firmly feel i have realised that there is no point being a so called regular poster …but being more informed and staying active all time is important…
PPl now respond only when there is absolute imp question that shud be answered …

I dont mean to say this but i also that

the present TiT#14 group of CC lacks the sprit and energy or is far more self conscious than ever before

That’s fine Ronty, we can chat later anytime. I will try to forward you the Research Topics at the earliest! But in the meantime, I urge you to explore other topics as well, because the topic that may come through me may not appeal to you and your interest sometimes.

If you are interested I will try to send you the Computer Topic also. It is mostly a mathematical method for deriving inferences and arriving at conclusions using Combinatorial Optimization Techniques.

I expect asaatvik to express his opinions on the issues he himself raised.

It was good and kinda easy-going.

No, not yet. I’m waiting for my EA decision. Interviews at other univs means submitting Part 1 which means $$$.
