<p>Yes the Certification of Finances is required whether or not you are applying for aid. And from what I know, there is absolutely no aid at CMU for international students.</p>
<p>well from what i know… the COF IS not compulsory at any University before admission. Even for Finaid applicants, the finaid form ( by CB) is due on feb1 . The COF is only needed after u get ur aid package, though they may insist on submitting the same along with main form…</p>

<p>Carnegie require intels to fill out the preliminary application. Apparently, this pre-app shows the adcoms whether the student will be able to pay for his/her tuition. So I guess CMU’s COF is on the Pre-app. However, sadly I have not been able to locate this wretched pre-app. CMU’s website is rather user-un-friendly…</p>

<p>the pre-app in CMU is crap…i filled it but still no reply from them…same goes for a friend of mine who applied to CMU last year…i don’t know why the hell they don’t reply!!</p>
