watercannon: any idea how many intels does brown accept with aid each year and what is the average aid package?

well i got banned from posting for 1 day because of my strong lang in my previous post…but do i regret it?? …HELL NO!!..anyways i see someone is trying to drag us back in some boring college talk again…man PLEASE!!..it was after sooo long that we digressed to some other topic!!..and after submitting all the apps i sure don’t wanna read more about college n stuff!! (till i get an acceptance perhaps ;))…

yea fasho!..i concur wid dexter…no more college bull**…lets talk bout some real interestin …

dexter…do u have a Yahoo ID…mine is ronty007
Many CCers r in Conference

lets see who all are there…hang on…

the conversation was terribly boring!!

abt that Brown question. I think Brown accepted 5 Indians with finaid last year.

Nope… they accepted five indians overall, but only one got aid… 4 accepted it, and one chose stanford instead… the one who got aid is at Brown though…

Brown takes international students, though it is tough to get it… They give aid, but you need to be deserving…

Another P.S. Out of those 5, only the guy who got aid applied for it from what i know… they other four who got in didnt apply for aid at all…

I don’t think you can get aid if you don’t apply for it ;)

At some institutions you can, where they have merit scholarships, like Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins and IUB. But then that’s technically called scholarship, not aid :)

Hi! I thought I’d introduce myself seeing as I’ve just joined this Forum. I’m an Indian student in Grade 11 in the ISC system studying in an school in Dubai. Hope to get to know you all.
I was wondering by the way, whether top colleges like Harvard and MIT and the like look at your total SAT I score, or only the subject wise breakup or both? Also, how would something like a 2240 do with regard to admission? I got that in my Dec. SAT (800 CR, 640 Math, 800 Writing), was a bit dissatisfied so am doing it again in Jan.

its quite alright man… focus on other aspects of your app … u dont have to max to get into these colleges…

yup…ur score is really really gud…except the math…u cn give the SAT II MATH IIC instead of giving the SAT I again…

yup! Great marks! :)

640 on the Math is a bit low for MIT. It’ll be harder to overlook than maybe a 640 on the CR, especially if you are an international. A 800 on the Math IIC might make up for it…but I would personally take the SAT again. It’s up to you to decide though ;)

Thanks, I am taking it actually already registered for the Jan one. Was a bit surprised about math, I expected 780! My brother (twin in fact) did rather well though, he got 2360 with an 800, 780, 780 breakup, so i’m hoping to beat him this time :)

Wow, those are awesome scores :)

But you should know, pretty much anything above 2250-2300 is the same thing.

yeah and saatvik knows his stuff man. He got into stanford early with financial aid (for the benefit of those who do not know)

So saatvik watcha doing these days. Why dont u come to the major cc conference on friday. U can chill a bit more than us dude.

That’s what i meant… the four who got in without aid didnt apply for it to start off with… the one guy who applied for aid and got in, got the aid… though im sure there were a lot of people who applied for aid and didnt get in… the stats i have are only for the ppl who got in…
