i’m back baby…long time no post…I’ve had one hell of a week…

congrats dexter…so thats two of us from TiT to get into UIUC…

what else is new?

ronty - they emailed me saying that. i never showed any interest for the interview before the emailed about it :P

i think they should be mailing everyone whose applied to princeton about this thing. why wouldnt they ?

how shud we show our interest? Like- emailing them for interviews?

Just to let you know, Princeton doesn’t place much emphasis on the interview and it’s likely you won’t have one, unless you’re in a large city with alums who are willing to do interviews. You will not get one just because you asked for it, nor will not having one make appreciable difference to your case. You don’t have to feel like you should travel hundreds of miles to get to an interview which doesn’t even play that big a role in your decision. (Just to prove that point, Princeton doesn’t even hold on-campus interviews!)
That said, a great interview should help.
Anyway, Princeton interviews are generally pretty laid-back. Mine was a lot of fun - definitely a lot more fun than my other interviews. :)

The University itself has no standardized way of getting in touch with the applicants about interviews. Some people may get emails, I, myself, got a phonecall. It depends on your interviewer and has nothing to do with whether you asked for one or not; only if there is actually an alum interviewer in your area.

Anyway, I’d be happy to try and answer any questions in general anyone has about Princeton. (apart from admissions of which I know nothing - lol :p)

Sucharita, thanks for clearing this doubt :)

ronty - which city are you from ?

Well i dont think there was much doubt on the interview situation. As far as I know Princeton clearly say on their website that they try to conduct interviews as far as possible and that its not always neccesary that one will get an interview and I think they also mention that not having an interview does not have any effect on your application. Basically for princeton the interview is not a means to evaluate an applicant rather they do the interview for the applicant so that the applicant can clear any doubts or queries regarding princeton.

Haven’t been here for a long time…

“Fad literature” is the perfect word for the Da Vinci Code, merc :)

I am from Patna :p

has anybody here read sybil

not me (sybil)

Actually i have moved on from fiction for some time. Except Harry Potter latest…in the past few months I have only been reading non-fictions. Some of the good ones I read were Sam Walton’s and Jack Welch’s autobiography, then Winning by Jack Welch and Who Moved my cheese by Dr. Ken Spencer (or whatever I dont remember the name)

what’s sybil? I rarely read books… Last one I read (excluding the stupid novels required for IB English SL) was Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Pretty cool… Unfortunately I rarely even finish most books…haha I’ve read the first hundred pages of the Da Vinci code and HarryP 5 and forgot to tread after that and lost interest. Probably read max 10 novels in my life haha (excluding the 10 IB books)

where are you guys these days. I cant find anyone online these days.

wasting my time doing nothing (no kidding)

nothing other than procrastinating.
