Yeah. Plus another guy with similar stats but a 39/42 IB got deferred EA from MIT and Caltech. And I’m way below with a 35-37.

hello… MIT doesnt accept internationals in the EA round… how come… he got deferred.

SM

Who was it?

Also who else got in where? Gautam at Yale, you at cornell… Anyone else?

The guy (Anish Talsania) is an american citizen so he applied to MIT n Caltech.

watercannon: You know Gautam? Yeah great achievement. He got into Yale with full aid. Sagar got into some M&T Program (Never heard of it, but apparently it only has around 45 seats!) at Wharton, UPenn. Kunjana got into Northwestern and Aalap got into the Stern Business school at NYU ED. Apart from that, there were a few people who got into UIUC at the time. Can’t really recall anyone else getting in ED/EA.

Apart from that, I got my Physics mock exam results back today… I missed a 7 by 1%
:(. THIS IS WHY I HATE THE IB Grading system. I got a 70%, my friend got 70.8. But he’s a 7, and I’m just a 6. :(

what is the maximum one gets on an IB is it 7?
Just curious.

also MM do u have a yahoo or msn. if u have PM me your id.

Yep. Max is 7. Technically, I missed a 7 by 0.5% coz a 70.5% is rounded off :(.

Yeah i know gautam… i was in the ambani batch above you ppl…

Sagar in m and t is pretty amazing…

Getting into yale itself is pretty amazing also… full aid doesnt make a diff cuz yale is need blind… but the admission is tough enough on its own…

Is geeta still there or is she being thrown out?

I, Suman, am going to University of Rochester (ED2)…not sure if i’m getting more aid but i have like 27k/45k at the moment…

Had my first part of Princeton Interview. It was awesome dicussing Quantum Mechanincs with someone from Institute for Advanced Study. We also discussed the evolution of Aircraft Engines in the last 100Ys, and I could explain to him in brief the revolutions around the corner awaiting in the field, esp in terms of high speed air-breathing propulsions systems, and the converse, high efficiency propulsions and the low-polluting ones that can address the environmental aspects of the future. We also talked about Economics, Philosophy, Decision-making algorithms and the corresponding Mathematical Theories. We talked of the significant outputs that had poured from the Princeton in the past 100Ys. We also discussed about environmental issues.

BIG BANG !!!

GOOLGE CHAT STARTED WORKING ON GMAIL!

From Mohit(the friend who applied to Princton…)

You call that an interview… WHere do you live? How did you talk to a person at IAS??? What do you mean by ‘first part’??? Was it more of a science discussion than sth related to admission!!! Please tell fast!!

watercannon:
“Is geeta still there or is she being thrown out?”
Luckily, that ***** has left. Good for her, she would have been thrown out. (Maybe she has been thrown out.) Even better for the Year-11s.
Apparently she’s had enough with the admissions process. I could tell you horror stories bout her, but nothing you probably havnt heard last year.
Btw, what’s your name?

I wonder how many indians get into M&T. I know this TVS kid who got in, from chennai, and now this other guy - hope it hasnt filled up the space for indians :(

Tvs???

u know…TVS scooter…TVS finance…TVS industries (yeah…ring a bell ronty?). This kid is from their family. Mom is wharton MBA

 yeah, I have heard of TVS…I though that he must have won some Competition organised by TVS :D

lol okay. This guy is the son of Venu Srinivasan, the owner of TVS

well then his feat is not exactly impressive coz from India like 50 students (who can pay) get into UPENN…so no big deal…i think the finaid spots are still left.

From Mohit(the friend who applied to Princton…)

Who? Do we know each other?

*You call that an interview… *

Was that an interrogative statement (as this one)? It looks more like affirmative statement (like this one). Anyway, my response is as follows.
I do. I enjoyed every second of it.

*WHere do you live? How did you talk to a person at IAS??? *

He called me up at 11:01 am (G.M.T +05:30 ) and we decided to have the interview at 21:30 (I.S.T.).
He called me and the rest, as they say, was said.

What do you mean by ‘first part’???

My interviewer said that he wishes to have more talks with me, hence it was the first part. Second, to be more appropriate. But the first 2 minutes 48 seconds exchange was only a fraction of what occurred later, hence, I presume that it can be overlooked, though not exclusively neglected, upon comparison.

* Was it more of a science discussion than sth related to admission!!! *

While talking to someone from Institute for Advanced Study, my preferences will be to discuss and exchange what I cannot with most others.
Occasionally, he asked about my family, my plans after Princeton, etc. Our talk was, however, dominated by things that were as mentioned previously. At most points during our discussion, details followed details. It was exciting and stimulating, esp since, for me, it was an impromptu exchange and everything was spontaneous and natural as natural and spontaneous could have been.

Please tell fast!!

I hope that the speed was enough. I could not be any faster. If it wasn’t, I am sorry. Despite the symmetry of time frame coordinates, science is yet to find a way to utilise it.

If you have any more questions that I may be able to answer, please do let me know and I will be happy to do so.
