is anyone giving the AP’s here or has everyone who were planning to take some have dropped their plans…

SM, seriously, i think you are the one who needs to lighten up (no offense meant), if you notice, shabin has been posting in the same style since forever, and he needs no one to tell how not to post! Even to other people who think that he comes up with this stuff to make himself look cool, well if you talk to him some day you’ll come to know how smart he is!
And a note to all you guys, try not to directly insult someone here (i have done it and i am not proud of it, so i am not being a hypocrite here.)
Anyways best of luck for your applications,
peace out

To a large extent - yeah. Apart from econ ( I don’t count business and commercial studies as humanities courses), people do kind of tend to look down on the humanities, unconsciously or otherwise. I’m a relatively good student and just a few months ago, I was sure that I wanted to do something scientific (this despite the fact that both my parents were History majors), to the point that I didn’t even want to consider the humanities other than a last ditch option. Now, thanks to compulsory distribution requirements and the fact that I’m away from the kind of peer pressure that makes a lot of people study science, I realize that maybe my interests and talents are more suited to the humanities. And I will probably major in something to do with the humanities (though I still can’t make the little voices in my head which tell me it’s more practical to study Mol Bio go away)
But I also think that a lot of Indians study science/engineering cuz they’re good at it and enjoy it more than other things. Surely that staggeringly large number can’t be solely accounted for by a prejudice against the humanities.

da one tme i tlked to him, he did strike me as sum1 extremely intrelligent…

got my admit card today…so now officially ISC 2006 here i come.

Yes, Shabin is very intelligent. I have known him closely for the past 6-7 months… So there isnt any doubt! :)

Is this an error or done intentionally?

I’m definitely not disputing the fact that Shabin’s intelligent. It’s just EXTREMELY annoying when people make up complex sentences for no apparent reason when a single word will do. There’s no point in complicating matters.
My apologies. :)

That was an error with both CC and my compie… dont worry the extra copies wud be removed wihtin sum time by mod …

Cant we end that topic…its becoming …

In a strategic development, Microsoft has tied-up with major cellular operators for a new breed of mobile phones that will allow users receive email when it hits servers instead of getting it when they synchronise with their servers.

Microsoft is expected to announce partnerships with the likes of Vodafone and Cingular at the 3GSM phone show to be held in Spain, beginning today.

Unlike the Blackberry and its peers who are way ahead in this game, phones running Microsoft’s latest Windows Mobile operating system will receive emails “pushed” directly from the company server, sans the need for a separate mobile server or additional license payments.

Microsoft says that Direct Push technology added to Windows Mobile 5.0 gives customers faster access to all of its Office Outlook information. The new version communicates directly with Microsoft Exchange Server and Windows Small Business Server without the need for servers and other middleware.

The software is available to all Cingular Wireless, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone users as an upgrade dubbed “Messaging and Security Feature Pack,” which enables direct push functionality plus enhances device management and security for messaging applications.

Regarding the new system, Pieter Knook, senior vice president - mobile and embedded devices, Microsoft, said that the company is at the tipping point of seeing exponential growth in this area.

Hewlett-Packard and three other handset makers are also expected to launch the first Windows smartphones equipped with the new email technology at the 3GSM show today.

Speculation is rife that Microsoft will most probably overtake RIM as the leading mobile email provider while RIM which has approximately 4.3 million Blackberry customers, has been sued for allegedly infringing patents belonging to NTP, a US technology company.
