<p>No offence to anyone, but the colleges do not consider those computer science awards as National awards - simply beacause most of those competitions are not well publicized. If the competition is limited to a certain amount etc. it isn’t a national competition.</p>
<p>
70 schools is by no means a national competition in India. Good examples of national competitions are - National olympiads in PCM and CS which lead to participation in the international competitions and competitions conducted by your education board, ie CBSE athletic competitions, ICSE quiz competitions etc.</p>
<p>Obviously its a great achievement but dont consider them as national awards, although you might list them as national awards on the app, most colleges will know.</p>

<p>And hello, look such competitions are not about making one the “national olympiad” what they do is that if you take part in a lot of competitions like this. The adcomms will know your dedication to the activity. So judge this scenario: if a person wins at one place it might be due to others incapability, if he wins at two places it might be his luck, but if he wins everywhere that is his talent but because he is living in a crappy state and a crappy town with a crappy board so he does not get the chance to participate in events of his liking.
And don’t even get me started on the national cyber olympiad</p>

other nat. comp also hav very much importance …i wud say that better than 1 olympiad national qualifier wud be a 3 time winner or participant of a national comp like these… winning counts no matter where…
Adcomm appreciate any achievement that is achieved at a larger scale like state level or more. they even like sp. awards ,participation and coordination in non-regular areas even at city level( provided it is not the usual mundane stuf like computer, debates etc…) they appreciate any talent and eccentricity in comp… Adcom know that comp which are unique- special find limited response and like if an applicant is the one involved.it surely counts a lot</p>
