Virendra… CC is meant for undergraduate applicants. There is hardly any graduate admission information or applicant here. Probably check out at the local USEFI for help

vow! what a mistake from my side!thank you smartmind for letting me know that it is for SAT students !

Cool…CC is becoming popular among grads too

Hey guys, I have just joined this forum. I have completed my 12th this year with 93% aggregate. Since I couldnt get through IIT, I decided to drop a year. Iam also thinking to give SAT this year(I didnt give it last year). My school counselor gave me a list of 16 colleges and told me to apply to atleast 10 of them. The following is the list. I am intending to apply for Computer Engineering.

Georgia Institute Of Technology
University Michigan Ann Arbor
University Of Illinois UC
University Of Texas Austin
Purdue University
Cornell University
Yale University
University Of Columbia
University Of Pennsylvania
Duke University
Drexel University
Arizona State University
University Of Rochester
Iowa State University
Washington University St. Louis
Stanford University

To be honest I have very little co-curricular experience. Apart from 9-10 social service certificates and some for Computer presentations in school I have nothing. Also since my father is a police officer, I cannot afford a “very expensive” college. I know that most of the colleges I have listed are quite expensive and therefore I would only consider them if I get some kind of a financial aid or scholarship. Please advise me on my chances of getting in and getting an aid from the colleges I have mentioned.

only academics wont help… Prep. fopr sat and get a solid score…

For basic info i wud say u do ur own research, at CC and at the college website. U wont get ppl answering these wueries as they are already there on each univ’s website…

However , if u have certain sp. queries post here. u will definitely get the answers…Check past threads and info at cc also…

BTW all the univ u listed give aid and money as scholarship…but to the best applicants:::::::

It is already high time u start the preparation of applications.those are very important.
Also ppl here need more stats to analyse ur chances.Try getting the basic couselling frm ur cousellor …

SMART, which SAT prep book do u find better; Princeton Review or Barrons?
And why? I m following PR… does Barrons have anything special in it?

sm->UIUC does not give any aid to intls as far as I know same for GAtech and UT Austin.

I have already started the application of six of the Universities. I have also completed my recommendations(written it myself!!), SOP and 2 the essays. The whole forum is really overwelming!! There are so many things and I am really confsued as where to start from. Anyways I have a specific question to ask!! Its as follows:-

I have heard that if you earn enough credits through AP exam you can skip 2 semesters and directly enter the Sophomore year of the college. Is it true? If it is then how many credits should I earn and how many subjects dhould I give.

Ronty Barrons is a bit tough but it has a hell lot of vocab.

Vampiro I know that most of the public universities dont offer aid to intls students
thats why iam a bit hassaled at the moment.

actually just wait for some time I finally got the yahoo so i’ll come online in some time on the messenger.

Dexter the skipping thing might be true only for the “chalta-phirta” college. Not for good ones like Stanford and UIUC(although u can get some courses waived off)

hey guys another thing…how many words are u intendind to learn??..I am doing from Barrons and have just completed the “High Frequency” and the “High Prospects” words list…I know i need to do a hell lot more!!!

so theres no one giving AP over here??

I m learning only the words given in the PR’s Vocabs
