@noone in particular:That lecture that I d/led last night was really interesting. Rich Shaw said that Stanford may introduce interviews as part of their admissions process. If you want to listen to the whole thing(he talks about his move from Yale and the “holistic evaluation process”), it’s called “Not Just a 4.0: An Insider View of Stanford Admissions”.

What on earth has happned here last night??..Even though there was not much interesting in the discussion, posts just exploded…just like this one…

Dash it, couldn’t you manage to get us our acceptance letters while you lot were wrecking the space-time continuum?

And Dubai is one and a half hours behind India? Interesting – Kuwait is two and a half hours, and I’d always rather assumed that the time zones were similar. (Then again, Bahrain itself was different, as I recall.)

to dda – Interesting, thanks for the info! I’m still really quite sold on UChicago, especially the geeky, but I can see how it’s easy not to be.

I hear of Anime evryday(courtesy:My canadian and US frenz)…but I hav never seen one…
At first, I thought it was ‘‘Amine’’…(really, I m too obsessed with IIT…)…

'Twas a good way for all of us to increase our post counts though. (Of course the 29th will be much, much worse than this, no boards left, lots and lots of butterflies flying about, and nearly every college in existence releasing decisions)

MIT is usually before the 29th, Shrivats. My personal doom will be much sooner. :o And Stanford’s after the 29th, so that’s my two top choices done and dusted. (Well, two of my top choices. I have no idea about Caltech.)

Ah yes, but somehow, I didn’t want to mention MIT. I’m just letting that hang in the future, indistinct and not thought about.

Argh, who am I trying to kid, I check MIT Admissions 20 times a day, devour anything even remotely connected to MIT, and have hallucinations/dreams of getting accepted. :)

The reason I said 29th is because all the Ivies + JHU + Berkeley _ Duke and a bunch of others release then.

Financial aid at Grinnell is avaialable for Intl’ (a li’l scarce though)<<<

I haven’t recieved a confirmation or just any email from grinnell, (i applied about a month back) … I tht i would drop them a mail, but their website says in a daunting fashion that “emails or phone calls are unnecessarry”

I don’t have any safeties either, issac. And my grades are Of Suck, and I’m applying for aid, so ‘screwed’ is an understatement! Waiting mostly for MIT, Stanford, and Caltech, though I’d be happy at any of the places I applied to.

And Shrivats – I do the same thing. (It really doesn’t help that MIT Admissions is fantastic.)
