<p>can someone tell me abt comeptitions that would be over before november this year and have some importance in US AND an Indian can participate!</p>
<p>IRIS would be over by first half of December. By that time you’ll know if you are going to ISEF or not(ISEF is considered as one of the biggest hooks for College admission process)
KVYP would be over by November.</p>

<p>KVPY is a great achievement (I know a boy who got through, and he’s approximately 10^17 times more intelligent than I could hope to be), but it’s on par with any other academic award, I think. A definite plus, but I doubt that it puts you in RSI or MIT automatically (hell, if it did, this guy has been keeping a lot from me).</p>

<p>Ah well I’m a bit of a maniac when it comes to writing. (I’ve written 90 odd for Physics once) :D</p>
<p>30 pages was about par, Kaushik wrote 55 :p. I think each and every one of us in my school wrote for at least 2 hours, 45 minutes flat out. (Quite a few people looking for a 100 on the paper)</p>

I mean WHAT DO YOU WRITE when they ask you to mention 5 values of BioD…all I did was mention 8 values and illustrate a bit…
IMO the paper was easy, and I had no difficulty finishing it in 1 hour 40 mins…</p>
