The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

@Pyro: Are you in Hyderabad?

I’ve managed to fall behind both Shrivats and K in number of posts. :frowning: Shrivats’ harangue about language didn’t help me too much either. Good luck all of you with your Stanford decision. Hope some of you will choose to come.

I am guessing pyro is in the same school as we are, fuzzy.

^ do you know him, spacepirate? I never realized so many kids were applying from our school.

yeah… i know him.

there are at least 10 people in our school who are intent on studying in the US :D

anyone celebrating ram navami?

@whoever asked: My parents want me to get into something in case I don’t get a visa. Now, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t get a visa. :(.

I’m not studying for the JEE, though.

how about you spacepirate? are you preparing for the JEE seriously?

Yeah, fuzzylogic and spacepirate, FIITJEE Hyderabad. ROCKS, dunnit ? :D

I actually know a girl who moved to Hyderabad to attend FIITJEE just because there wasn’t one in Bangalore at that point. Bit frightening, innit?

There are actually quite a few kids in my class who have moved here from other cities.

Yeah. Either marvellously dedicated or marvellously insane, I haven’t decided which. (Of course, this is from the point of view of someone who did no IIT prep until late February this year, so I suppose I simply don’t understand the motivation.)

Ah, IIT. Driving India insane since the year whateveritwas.

1950ish? (Yes I knew that, no, wiki had nothing to do with it ;))

I’ve been spending the morning browsing through the CMU site, (I recommend it most thoroughly if you want to waste a good few hours); figured that if since I’ve got to make an informed decision on where I’m going for college, I might as well be informed! :)

Congrats Noldo…

Finally, what I hav predicted for u has come true, eh??..

Ah well, haranguer reporting again.

Yesterday’s daily round up: 83 posts.

As recent as that, then? I’d always thought IIT was rather ancient, shows what I know.

I browsed the CMU site back when I was filling out apps. Quit when I realised that there was no aid offered – can’t afford college on my own! (Not a bad site as college sites go, though.)

And issac – yes, that was a good prediction! :D

Does anybody feel I should continue “Diatribe on English”? Or was that enough of a rant already? :stuck_out_tongue: :D

I think you made your point, Shrivats. (Though I’ve noticed that my English has deteriorated rather since I moved to India, myself. Bloody CBSE!)

And my other prediction for the twins is also true…so congrats twins for CMU…

Noldo: if u dont mind…remove those last two words…

I thought so too. Relentless pandering on grammar can be so wearying at times can’t it?

Speaking of wearying, it’s almost a perfect cycle now isn’t it?

the 28th, 29th, 30th and the 1st all have decisions. Now we’ve just got to wait for the 31st and then that’s it.

(I’ve been re-reading my Dune books, hence the cyclical view. ;))
