Congratulations, dda! Stern’s rather tough, isn’t it? :D

naidu – eh, SAT Math has nothing to do with your actual mathematical ability after a certain level (I’m top of my school’s math class and had 730 in the 11th, 770 in the 12th; a guy who nearly failed out of 11th-grade math had 800). It’s mostly about seeing through word traps and being efficient at basic arithmetic (I tend to make ridiculous calculation errors, like 1+1=1 and whatnot. :o).

AAHHH, can’t bear the wait. Even though I’m pretty much rejected.

I probably should’ve gone for the mock IIT test. Would’ve kept me till 5 PM. Whatever, I’m better off this way.

My parents are mad at me because I’m not studying and they think this translates to me not studying in the US, and just wanting to go there “for the lifestyle”. Duuuuuuuude.

I know, I should break these posts up, but I need to go finish my lunch, PASTA AND PEPSI :D

@Naidu: Great first time score. (I did beat you though, 2360… :p)

But on the other hand, you did beat Kaushik’s first time… (2240)

Twin rivalry to the fore! :D

@Naidu again: Seriously though, SAT math’s irritating, but you should get an 800 on your second go. That is, if you’re even going to give it again. You’ve got a great score! (K gave it again, but his score distribution was hilarious, 800CR. 800W, and 640M! You are not alone… :))

What’s SAT II Literature like, then? (I wanted to take it, but I needed science tests for MIT and Caltech, and didn’t want to shell out more money for a second testing date.)

I was thinking about taking SAT Lit later but I will already have taken 5 of them after this year (so the only reason I would take it would be to set an example for my little brother ;))

Ah, damn, I should have taken that. Would’ve been far more fun than the rather unexciting SAT II Chemistry (I don’t even know why I took that test. Chemistry is probably my least favourite science subject, tied with some sections of Biology.).

naidu – good luck on that! They’re really not terribly difficult tests, just get yourself a prep book and familiarise with the format a little (even if you know the subject backwards, can’t hurt) and you should be set.

I looked at the SAT Lit paper, it was awesome, I wanted to take it too, but I didn’t for the same reason as Noldo (and I didn’t have a prep book…)

Not worthy of a bold or italic is it anymore…

Speaking of college acceptances, I’m really struck by the difference in the admitted student areas for JHU and Duke. Duke’s area’s brilliant. JHU seems to have not spent any time on theirs… Ah well, I was tending towards Duke anyway. :D
