The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

AAAAAH! Its beginning to sink in now.

I don’t have to slog for those IITs now, YAY!

Saatvik is a past TiTer with the username assatvik, who was my partner in my NASA projects. He is my senior and got into Stanford early.

You know what? For the first time, I was not at all tensed when I clicked the “View Decision” button. You know, not at all tensed. I was least expecting it.

I haven’t checked, though my mum’s angry with me. I really want to wait for the post. :p

fuzzy- are you attending Admit Weekend btw?

yeah, how about you?
is the acceptance letter any different from the early one? mind posting it?

EDIT:spacepirate, get on facebook and join the Stanford Class of 2011 group. There are a lot of current students willing to answer any questions you might have. Plus the Dean is on there…

While you wait for your packet to arrive, you can learn more about Admit Weekend and Stanford in general by visiting our admitted student website, http://admit.stanford.edu, that was developed by current Stanford students just for you.

Dean is on Facebook? That’s cool.

So, you have a US visa, then…cool

Hmmm, the letter is a bit different from mine…

Dear fuzzy,

On behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admission, it gives me very special pleasure to offer you admission to Stanford’s Class of 2011. A hearty congratulations to you!

You have every reason to be proud of your accomplishments, and we are honored to invite you to join the Stanford community. Since our founding in 1885, Stanford has been defined by students and faculty who endeavor to push the limits of knowledge, and who share a commitment to extending that spirit of exploration and excellence beyond campus. This is a community of scholars dedicated to what Jane Stanford, co-founder of Stanford University, called “the cultivation and enlargement of the mind.” Your application showed that you have the intellectual energy, imagination and talent to flourish in this environment.

The enclosed materials are designed to assist you with the enrollment response process and to provide important information for you and your family as you consider your enrollment options. We, of course, hope you will decide to accept our offer of admission and enroll at Stanford, but please know that you have until May 1 to confirm your choice. Whatever decision you make, we ask that you return the enrollment response card in the envelope provided at anytime but no later than May 1, 2007.

Over the next few months we will continue to send you additional information about Stanford and about Admit Weekend 2007, a three-day program scheduled for April 19-21. Should you want to contact us for any reason, please feel welcome to call us at (650) 723-2091 or email us at a special email address specifically for admitted students only: early-admit@stanford.edu. You also are invited to visit our admitted student website, http://admit.stanford.edu, that was developed by current Stanford students just for you.

Please note that while we have every reason to believe that you will complete this school year successfully, your admission is contingent upon your continued strong academic performance in the program of courses you presented to us in your application. If you consider altering the courses you will pursue for the rest of this year, please contact us before finalizing any changes.

fuzzy, we all look forward to the unique and extraordinary contributions that you will make to our campus life. We once again extend our congratulations on your admission to Stanford and look forward to welcoming you to the Stanford family!

Sincerely,

Richard H. Shaw
Dean of Admission and Financial Aid

The schedule for AW looks amazing…

Have you accepted yet?

EDIT: Where’re the other TiTans? Get up, guys!

Congrats spacepirate

I am all hazy. Mom wants me to write the AIEEE instead of going to AW. Damn!

fuzzy- No, I do not have a visa! I think I’ll apply for an emergency appointment. I cant access the admit website yet because I dont have the letter in hand.

Can we get into a chat fuzzy?

Some of us are awake and not posting. :stuck_out_tongue: Mostly because I nave nothing to say at the moment, except congratulations to spacepirate (that’s really, really awesome, actually. Saved from the jaws of death the JEE!).

Still don’t know my Stanford decision. Holding out for the post as long as I can.

Ah, I want to go to pre-frosh weekend at Caltech, and I can’t afford it. :/

sure, sp…PM me your id

Noldo, check your decision…damn superstition

Ahhh, congrats on Satnford guys, no one from my school made it, so I guess that kinda buried the blow.

Ah, well I’m glad we all got into some solid universities. WELL DONE!

fuzzy, allow me my momentary irrationality. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll probably crack and check it by this evening, really, but right now I feel fairly firm about this.

If I do get in, to be honest, I’ll really be in a dilemma. Stanford’s the only place I’d even consider turning Caltech down for (took me a while to come to that conclusion, but yes, I have come to it).

noldo- thanks, I hope you get in as well :)

i just realized, I will become a Senior Member finally…

But I’ll miss the notacceptedanywhereyet club!

Grats spacepirate!!!

Good things come to those who are forced to wait lol!

CONGRATS SPACEPIRATE, RED ROVER AHOY!

I’d told u that a great decision awaited u :)
