You say we all do. What if colleges I have applied to such as Brown find out that we cheat on rank?

Hey people, thanks for the replies.

Some of these do not give Financial Aid, could someone point out exactly which ones?
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Amherst, Williams, CALTECH, UBerk, UMich

@rt
Yeah, I’m the same as that in AoPS, though I do not visit that forum much nowadays.

@tetrisfan
Thanks for the advice.

@Gary
Thanks for extracting sound advice!
Take care. Be back to normal as fast as you can.

Berkeley and UMich don’t give out aid.

@sishyatn: I meant that’s what we all do since all of us here are in the top 10%.

@tetrisfan: I still don’t understand by “thats what we all do” means.

I hope I’m not too late to say “RANKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!”
That’s what we all do=you go to the GC or whoever’s in-charge and get him to tick the top 5% or top 10% or even top 25% whichever is applicable in your case. In our case however we all have a rank of at least top 10%.

No I meant that we get our counselor/whoever to put down top 5%/top 10% based on our general performance in all subjects…

thank you all for your suggestions and good wishes :slight_smile:
The doc permitted me to appear for tomorrow’s exam(however unprepared i am)

Yay! You better now?

anyone read the lost symbol??? I liked it but most of my friends didnt.

I didn’t like it much either. It was quite good at times. For instance during that water part(Don’t want to go into too much detail and spoil it for the others) and also the 885 part. But, the end was quite disappointing. The “big” suspense towards the end wasn’t really a suspense(I thought he made an obvious reference about the madman somewhere in the middle) and the the conversations sounded a lot preachy to me. Also, I had to literally prevent myself from falling asleep while reading the last 50 or so pages.

I haven’t read it yet. Was too expensive, and I thought 11 books would last me longer than 3.5 days when I was at the bookstore.

Dan Brown can get pretty predictable though, so it’s not surprising that the big surprise at the end wasn’t so much of one. (Haha whatever that was).

Anyone read Skinned by Robin Wasserman? It’s pretty good.

I have The Lost Symbol but I’m reading something else right now. It’s next on my list, though.

Just got my ‘AP Scholar with Honor’ award. I had no idea I was eligible! Also looks like I missed ‘Distinction’ award by 1 point in calc :stuck_out_tongue: Anyways, the certificate is pretty cute! Does this hold any weightage in college admissions? Or is it just a standard award every decent applicant(who’s given APs) is supposed to have?

No idea, really.

Congratulations. But unfortunately, I really don’t think that the certificate will hold any weightage in college admissions. :frowning: It is an award “granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.” So, it’s as you said a standard award that every decent applicant shooting for the top schools is supposed to have. =(

Nevermind, its still shiny and will keep mom happy enough not to study-scold me for my exams for a few days.

How was lit?

I did 3 poems and 3 acts.
The whole damned paper had nothing but those save for one RTC. So, pretty decent I guess :stuck_out_tongue: Though I fell asleep in the middle as always, and had to do the Pygmalion loooong answer in 15-20 mins. And yeah, you tend to forget how to make letters if you don’t write a word for over a week before the exams.

What is WITH you and sleep during exams?
