did any of you here have any interviews? if yes how were they…?

advice for interview if you are planning on doing one
smile
dress nice
know about the college
know about the program you r applying too

Three interviews so far: Harvey Mudd, Rice and MIT.

MIT guy was a bit different. His laptop covered half of his face and he rarely mad eye contact.

Harvey Mudd interview was very well organized. They were all held in a hotel and the interviews were conducted by local alumni. However, director of admissions had come up from LA to talk to the parents and answer any questions.

Rice interview was very informal - held in a local coffee shop. Interviewer’s daughter attended same HS. So, mostly talked about HS teachers and courses.

WUStL will be on Jan 10th. Expect this to be similar to HMC.

Interviewers are generally very nice and they know that most candidates are nervous. As long as you show up on time and speak with common sense you should be ok.

Good luck!

wow max so many interviews
whats your dream college???

cccccccooooollllllleeeeeggggggeeeee

I do not know. When one goes through the application process it becomes very clear where one belongs. This coupled with few doses of reality (stats, GPA, ECs) will help you set your dreams. So far, University of Chicago is emerging as the dream school. Strong interests in Physics and Philosophy make it an ideal place for education. The main question is - will it be affordable? Without some form of FA, the answer is no.

UW is both a safety and a top choice. Best campus seen so far. Very friendly and diverse student population free of any snobbery. Ultimately it will be decided by how much it is going to cost and how much we can afford.

funnypunjabi, I sense that you are focusing on USC. Right?
I think USC is one of the most underrated universities.

yeah how did you know it was USC??

I recall you mentioning it earlier. I think Miss Pooja is making you very forgetful ![]()
Cheers!
