I like that too, haha.

i m from india
Today, I found that I am a state topper (Mathematics, Physics & English) in International Assessments for Schools conducted by University of New South Wales, Australia.

I have applied to uc berkeley, mit, stanford, princeton, cmu, cornell, upenn, duke…
Is there any way to inform them about this, because I think this can make a difference.

mid year report?
are you from kol?

Email them. Tell them you want it to be included in your app.

i m from punjab. Not mid year report, this is a general accomplishment.

Yeah, so email then.

ok quasi, I hope they update my application

They will, don’t worry about it. :)

quasi, i am national road cycling champion. So, i hope sports scholarship from these universities. Will they consider me automatically or i have to send them something extra for sports scholarship?

Um, recruiting for sports is a different process altogether and starts much, much earlier than now. Also, the Ivies and Stanford don’t give scholarships - they give you financial aid, that is, money depending on how much need of it they think you have to be able to go there. I’m sure it’ll help you get admitted though, and with this calibre of schools if they admit you they’ll make sure they give you enough money to go.

one more question-- Is cornell need blind for international students?

No, Cornell is not needblind. However, there’s a new scholarship for Indian students, so they’ll probably be generous with money to Indians this year.

i think indian thread is most efficient.

Lol that’s good to know. :)

Who says Y2k is dead!?!?! WE STILL HAVE Y2.01K! runs around in cirlce screaming It’s 2010 already!

Cornell is “need aware” for international students, and the money they dedicate to international financial aid was prior to this year, only for Canada and Mexico… so you’re definitely going to be lucky this year, in that they will give you aid if you get in, however, unlucky in the respect that a larger pool of students are competing for the aid.

They gave aid to international students prior to this year as well. But it was insanely competitive unless you were from Canada/Mexico.
But from this year around 25 students will have full need met. Considering there will be many students applying without needing aid, there are gonna be a lot of indians there this year. The fact that most Indian students are still not fully aware of the change in Cornell’s policy makes admission much much easier than last year. At least, I’m hoping it is enough to let me in :P
