@cc_freak American culture is dynamic - it is continuously evolving with what immigrants bring from all around the world. This is what makes my country great. When you come here you can become part of this process and have a very enriching experience. You don’t have to give up your culture to learn about another culture. If your concept of American culture is based on what you see on sitcoms then you are greatly mistaken. I think what people of Indian/Punjabi origin are doing in high schools and colleges with Bhangra is great! Celebrating one’s ethnic culture is seen as a sign of strength. When people have fun by dressing up, singing and dancing it is a celebration of life. Please learn to recognize that.

I agree with Maxxwell, what you read in the books about India is false. Going there and meeting the people and the culture is what makes my country great.!! I also agree with funnypunjabi that you follow your culture and should not base on other values not in it. I hate when people are from India and become so westernized, u know? Try to stay with your culture is what makes it great!! Namaste to all:)
