The Indian Thread (TiT) #18

oh i must feel good to get accepted, i know thats crazy we are adults now aaaahhhh

lol yeaa my parents are acting all weird and what not now that departure is truly definite. The other day, my dad pulled the “you know your mum raised you from small” line on me, and I was just “O_O”

sdglhefidhg

Right, so tetris: queen. Ergo, gary cannot be king.
Me: supreme dictator and expander of queendom into further and further numerical value
gary: court jester
ccp: knight and soldier
fp: Commander-in-Chief
cheese: dragon slayer

Any more applications for positions go through me and tetris. Thank you.

Life-changingness: Sigh. My mom keeps randomly popping into my room and going, “When your exams are over we have to go to so-and-so” and “Next year I’ll visit you on my birthday, do they let parents stay in dorms?” and “You should take this to college, it makes your hips look less out of proportion.”

I resist telling her that I’m unlikely to get in anywhere. (And that nothing will make my hips look proportional.)

Hahaha my mom’s stopped trying to give me clothing suggestions :p

… im tired

i think my mom’s taste in clothing is slutty lol She’s always trying to make me look more “feminine” and I’m always wondering why there’s fabric lacking in so many locations on her suggestions…

My mom likes leopard print. Beat THAT.

My mom’s ideal choice of clothing for me would be a burkha.

Haha, my mom usually just wears salwars. Jeans and sweaters and stuff if we travel abroad (she shivers easy, lol). And she doesn’t care what I wear. But then again, I don’t dress slutty, so… :p

“I don’t dress slutty”…HAHAHA…my mom actually called my gf “lusty”, when my younger brother showed her a photo of her on fb…i didn’t know what to say…

I LIKE your mom, tetris! I shiver easily too! :D

megmeg, nah I don’t believe you. If your mom doesn’t like you wearing pyjamas in public…

LOL cheese you always have the best stories about your family.

haha…thanks quasi!! Gujju joint families are the sh|t!!

Aww quasilicious you remember the thing about the pyjamas! But it’s so true. My mom glares disapprovingly at anything I wear. And to quote tetris, I definitely “don’t dress slutty.” :P

I wish my mom was a little more Bong and/or my Dad a little more Marru so we could have some of that local color thing going, but NO, they just HAVE to be all cool and ****.

I don’t dress slutty either! We should form a Non-Slutty Dressers Brigade. Our moms will officially be cooler than us then, but we’d have the authority to glare disapprovingly at them for a change.

Yay for non-slutty dressers!

I don’t dress slutty either >.< I’m a t-shirt and jeans kinda gal. It’s just… my mom always wanted a daughter, and she complains she got a second son -_- However, she wouldn’t wear any of the stuff she chooses for me to wear…

My dad thinks it’s still the 60s, he has one of those ratpack hats… -sigh-

I’m a t-shirt kind of person too, but my mom makes me dress like a girl sometimes. All these aunties comment on how nice I look then, which doesn’t really function as an incentive for me to dress like that. Comments on my appearance make me more uncomfortable than like…comments on my math skills (or lack thereof), even.

I like my nose though. And I do enjoy dressing up sometimes when I’m down or something.

Edit: I LOVE my Dad’s clothes. I’m wearing one of his gigantic sweaters right now, and I wear one of his weird tweed caps sometimes. It’s a running joke in my family that if my Dad buys it, it’ll end up in my wardrobe.

lol I can’t exactly wear anyone’s clothes in my family… Being 5 feet tall and what not, I’m kind of a lot smaller than they are o-o

My dad has a personal vendetta against my shoes… everyone here wears flip-flops year round, however, I also have this sneakers? These old ratty black converse that I’ve had my entire high school experience, that I absolutely adore… Every time I miss them it’s because he’s accidentally misplaced them in the neighbors trash can -_-

Oh, I’m always in a t-shirt and jeans/capris. Sometimes, if we’re going out for dinner or something, I throw on a shirt. I own exactly one dress :p. I have one sweater which I use when we travel. Chennai doesn’t really let me stock up on a winter wardrobe :D.

ZOMG I LOVE FLIP FLOPS! I’m always in flip flops/floaters/these casual Puma sneakers which are super-comfy. But it’s flip flops 90% of the time. I even wore flip flops to school a few times, and no one really noticed :p.
