Whateva. The point is it IS annoying.

Yeah, Tippu…

What is the noise anyway?

25th june… last i checked(about 2 hours ago) there was 21st,22nd,23rd,24th and 25th open atm… book yours fast guys… and ans- never heard of any orientation… and im in delhi so most probably, nope I wont be attending that

This is so frustrating. I didn’t see any orientation dates when I checked like 6 hours back, and there are none now.

Akshay: Did you pay some SEVIS fee online besides the HDFC fee?

Howdy people. I was here about two years ago. I had some time over the summer so I came back to help! Feel free to PM me with questions.

I have a different Username now for privacy reasons.

Cheers!

yes, we have to blue box. 200 frickin dollars. www.fmjfee.com

yepp and keep checking everyday especially in the morning for interview dates… once they’re out they fill up veryy fast

I got VISA pretty early and I’d suggest the same. Once you get the visa you are done with almost all the important stuff. Getting my flight tickets was a little exhausting. I was trying to find the best deal. Air India won. Cheap and extra baggage allowance.

A total of $350 then. This is painful. =/

Aviator: Lufthansa offers discounts for students on one-way tickets. About Rs. 30k. I don’t know bout Air India.

Akshay: What time did you check?

Blue_Box = My Air India ticket one way was Rs 34,000. Instead of two luggages each 24kg I was allowed three. Rest is your call.

And out of all the international airlines I have flown since, Air India is still one of the best.

i checked around 9:30 in the morning… and yeah air india is, I guess, the best because it allows you to take maximum luggage at the lowest price… this is important when you’re starting off the freshman year… and aviator u might wanna change the $ :p

ah drats. Two years from now, you will be making the same mistake. ;)

i know… but no one ever notices it about a guy
and like, its not as big of a deal

and nah thanks son

it still hurts but idc.

im gunna get with whoever i want this summerrrrrrr ;]

Do you go to Colgate, Aviator? Just a wild guess!

I may or may not. I have been there though.

^Aviator, you seem to come across as someone who is very knowledgeable about the entire application process and the American system of education primarily via exposure and experience. Thanks a lot for dropping by!

Do you mind sharing the name of the University you go to? Just curious…

i wish i get a 34000 ticket . all the rates i see are like 44000+.
and i hope io need only one shot at the visa. once i get the date im gonna pester u guys to help me with the prep

44k ONE WAY? Are you guys serious?

I usually pay that much for return… Jet Airways… Awesome food and everything B)

ansrox : You can’t see the student discount prices online for Air India, goto an Air India office and talk to them there. I am pretty sure you will get a better price in-office.

harvard17 : Well, I am trying to keep it private but all I can tell you is that I go to a University in NY and ranks within top 10 US News ranking. Apologies for being vague. I was pretty excited about the process and did everything on my own and spent a lot of time here. So I did collect experience on the way. Feel free to PM me if you have questions or just post them here!

Yep, the price ranges around that. The airline industry works in a weird way. And I’ve found that flights originating from US are cheaper.
