And I got my visa yesterday. =)

yay usa!!!

Whats with the sudden “patriotism”, ans?

lo droogs! sup?

i really hope all of you get your visas! my aunt and uncles had to go through the same thing a couple of years ago. haha they were so scared!

what kind of questions do they ask?

When I went for the tourist visa, they asked about the purpose of the visit, income, then did a little small talk.

Hello everyone!

Why is TiT moving at snail’s pace? We can do better than that I suppose!

@Aniruddh: Check your email!

To all those who have had their Visa interview: Were you asked to furnish your financial documents to verify your ability to pay for an American education? Also, which documents, if any, did you take for the Visa interview?

Thanks a lot guys!

harv, I think you’ve read mine already?
See you guys(sushmita, harv, meghna) at USIEF tomorrow!

gary: Was prior registration required for the pre-departure orientation? =S

They didn’t really ask me anything significant. But you have to prove you have enough liquid funds (bank) to pay for your first year of studies, and enough general funds (can be anything, property, etc.) to pay for all four. You also need an affidavit letter sort of thing from your sponsor, where he says he’ll pay for all 4 years of your study there.

Also, carry your admission letter, standardized test scores, I-20, I-901, I-901 online receipt, Interview letter, DS-160 confirmation page, passport, income tax returns of your sponsor and/or parent for the past 3 years, list and possible proof of assets and PPF funds and bank account balances with appropriate conversions in USD. Also a letter from your parent’s employer with the salary specified in that.

@Gary: Yes, I did read your post on FB. I just wanted to have a general idea and hence decided to post on CC!

See you tomorrow!

@Blue: Thanks a lot for the details!

Although prior registration was recommended for the PDO, you can still come tomorrow to the American Center and get yourself registered for the day long event at about 9 in the morning. The registration fee is Rs. 250, and, according to them, you also get a whole lot of freebies!

Just registered. =)
So the thing starts at 9?
