Hey harvard, when’s your visa interview?

A 600 point increase is unheard of. If you manage it, do let me know.

My interview is on July 19, 2010. When is yours, Wanderer?

Yeah, I’m transferring to Columbia. I think my major is more important. And Dartmouth is too rural.

I emailed the Delhi and Mumbai consulates and, stupidly enough, I need an NEW effing visa. ■■■

Like w.t.f? My visa is valid till 2014. This is ridiculous. Insane.
/rant

Anyways, thank god for emergency appts.

It’s on the same date, harvard.

Also, have you booked your tickets already or waiting till you get the visa?

Why is it that only harvard and I are paying?
I’d love to pay 4k a year!

Paying for?

College, blue_box, college my friend. I don’t know why I decided to go to college.

About the mobile , which one will u b carrying?I will buy the cheapest contract there but only for the sake of it. I recommend using a software called magic Jack. I think I will buy a cheap dual sim micromax here and take it with me instead of a contract type phone. What say?

Umm that is because I own a tri band phone as of now and the micromax h360 fits my budget-
I bought a 15000 bux phone and now I end up not being able to use it cuz of it not being quad fricking band!!

@Wanderer: I have already booked my tickets! What about you?

And, what time is your interview?

@Ans: Destiny is choosy, my friend!

And, if this helps: I have a two year old Nokia N95 8GB and I will most certainly carry it to the US!

um blue box, do u live under a rock?

my friend raised her score from 1800 soph year to 2370 senior year.
and one of my other friends raised his score by like 800 pointsss darling

it’s not that unheard of hun ;]

Yea, because those who don’t know your friends’ stories, live under a rock.

First one, perhaps. Second one is the biggest pot load of dung I’ve ever heard.

And the first link is (1) a PSAT to SAT improvement, (2) the best of TWO SAT scores.
The third link is a 300 point increase.
And I don’t have the patience or inclination to go through 5 pages of links, but looking at the first 2 pages of the link, the max. improvement is 490 (a 12 year old, apparently).
In fact, a guy goes and says,

So yea. Good job with the “do you live under a rock” comment, when you can’t substantiate your position.

Yea. Sure.

Ans: I’m paying full too.

[edit] Just to be thorough, I went through ALL 8 pages, and 490 was still the largest increase BY FAR. So good luck with your 600 point increase, hun.

If you plan on getting a phone in US, you will have to sign a contract with one of the phone companies for a year atleast. Most people usually sign for 2 years.

I bought a magic jack and gave it to my parents so they could use it to call me but if you are planning on using Magic Jack for your everyday use - forget it. You will definitely feel the need to buy a phone with contract while you are there.

And magic jack is a hardware attachment rather than just a software.

And if you don’t want a smartphone there are plenty options for a free handset with your contract.

The Matrix guy who came for the pre-departure orientation organized by USEFI talked about monthly plans too, but the yearly ones worked out cheapest. The incoming SMS charges, and the “minutes” system, they’re pretty annoying.

I went to the Orientation a few years ago too. Matrix isn’t suitable for anyone except for if your parents really want you to have a phone when you get there right away.
