Does anyone know anything about this program? My niece (who is studying abroad in Scotland this semester), was accepted into their London program. She needs to respond within seven days (the fee is $3,790!). We’ve spent the afternoon googling to make sure the program is legitimate, but most of the reviews were on the program’s website.
She has to pay them for an internship?? Ummmm – I don’t think so.
The founder is making big $$ off the placements.
The fee includes a dorm room or apartment (for six weeks).
If it includes a dorm room then that’s where a lot of money goes.
D1 did a program with her school in NYC. for 6 weeks, she had 3 weeks of classroom lectures and 3 weeks of internship at a financial institution. Many of those banks were bulge bracket firms, and the interns were able to get their junior year summer internship at where they were placed. It was a good program for students without prior experience. D1 did it because 6 weeks fit her time frame. It did add to her resume and she got school credit for the program too.
I would find out if alumni of the this program do end up with subsequent job placement later on.
I can see why you’re worried, that’s a lot of money! I just did a quick search for intern group reviews and gooverseas and goabroad came up first. I would check those out.
