The Interview Waitlist

Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to come on here and ask if anyone had any experience with the interview waitlist.

I had to waitlist for two of my schools and couldn’t really find anything about the topic here on CC. Doesn’t seem like it’s an official thing where they send out an email once interviews are officially closed. I assumed that they were closed once I got my “application complete” email but one of my friends scheduled one just yesterday.

Does anyone have any experience getting off an interview waitlist? If so, when? And if there’s a thread I missed feel free to link it. Thanks.

Without knowing exactly what happens at each school, I believe you should interpret it as:

This school currently has no interview spots available. In all likelihood, everyone who submitted an application who had not interviewed was put on this list. As/if appointments become available, you will be given the opportunity to interview.

At most schools, the admissions staff has shifted gears from interviewing to reading at this point in the cycle. How much time they have to interview is an unknown, so it’s hard to say how many of those WL interviews will happen.

Just make sure you monitor your communications with them so you can accept if an opening occurs.

Which schools?

Milton and Deerfield online. Got an email saying my application was complete for both.

Yeah for both of the schools they asked you to fill in an interview waitlist form, so they are probably just going down the list. Kind of surprised me that they were still doing interviews at this point though.

According to my friend, the email said if you didn’t respond within 24 hours then the slot would no longer be available to you, so that is good advice to monitor communications.
