The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

Maybe Einhorn and Tepper are beginning to pull out of this

Don’t you hate when politicians talk? The market was recovering nicely until Prez Obama started talking.

Going to read this in the gym. Sold some hlf puts thAt expire in 2 weeks. 2 weeks is a long time in hlf. I am not in love with this trade. If I was in my prime I would have put on a big pos hlf. But now, I am just an older, but not old man. Lol

Razorsharp has asked me who I like.

I like Marty Zweig. I liked him in the 80s. I think he was great.

Great link. What he wrote holds up.

If you like charts, support on AAPL is around 425/426. I am bidding for some calls, figure it is time to take a flyer. Haven’t traded anything AAPL in a long time.

Agree - a guy on a trading board that I’m on listed that as a downside target when AAPL was up around $700.

BCEagle91, where did the guy who bot around aapl earnings get out?

Ok sold some hlf 37 puts that expire next week. I wanted to sell something…

I was going to sell aapl 3/8 410 puts but I didn’t. I think I’ll sit on my hands for now except if my 3/1 iwm 90 puts and spy 151 puts are in trouble. Anybody have a prediction as to how the market is going to end up today - do we sell off near the close, do we stay around here or do we close at a record in the dow?

I think your puts expire worthless

Didn’t sell aapl puts this week either
I guess I will take a look…

Burned 880 calories and the Dow moved 5 points

I haven’t followed that closely. The guy that bought has stopped out and bought back in a few times. He has stopped out of all of his positions now except for PSEC. I think that he is considering going short (via TZA) this afternoon.

I used to be one if the larger makers in tza (thru the firm I was with).

That etf has been crushed. Look at a long term chart.

Amazing…

Triple ETFs get killed by volatility.

^Could you burn another 880 calories? We may get another 5 points up. I’d like that. I am selling shares in mutual funds.

Yes the triples do get killed by volatility…

This was a very good article…maybe you saw it…

Lol…igloo I am sore. :)

Doct what are u doing?

I sold a lot more puts that expire next week than I did for this weeks expiration. I won’t be on the road. When I am short puts, I want access.

Goog, spy, hlf…

No appl… Didn’t feel like it…

I am going to sell puts in aig eventually… Maybe on a big down day…

My iwm and spy puts expired without me having to roll them out. I was going to sell some more today but cnbc scared me from doing anything when some trader got on and said he was telling all his people to close out their positions until Monday because of sequestration etc. If things go down Monday morning, I’ll probably sell some more puts. Yesterday I got out of my aapl 3/16 460 - 480 call spread. The stock isn’t going anywhere for a while and I was able to unload it with a loss of ~4.5 vs 7.9 if I held it to the 16th.

The market has been down how many Mondays in a row? A lot.

In some ways I should have waited until Monday to sell some puts but I had offers In hlf and I just got taken boom boom boom when the stock dropped to 40.
