The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

I could also buy back the vlo puts, sell some later dated in vlo and some other stock or all in another stock.

All those plans are fine…

If you are short 5 puts… You can buy back 5 and sell 4 cutting your risk. Maybe with the juns you can sell 3 puts…That is why I wonder how much you like this stock…

You don’t have to do the roll one for one…You can if you want…

Also…there is a dividend in may…looks like after jun expiration.
Looks like most of the div is priced in the options…

Just letting you know there is one…

Maybe the stock will bounce a little…

I like this stock and did well in it up to now. I sold 10 45 puts. I also had sold 10 4/20 40 puts a while ago.

Ok…hopefully …the stock bounces…that makes it easier…

If you roll…You can also roll into a put spread…so that would limit your downside risk too…

I am not telling you anything I would not do myself…

If TXxx collapses…I doubt Very much I will roll one to one.

Nke I probably will…Roll one to one…

If goog collapses I will be sick. :)

You aren’t down that much…

The technical setup on VLO is dangerous even though the company is fundamentally sound. The island reversal is a strong technical formation and that’s the current setup. A gap down and those that bought in are “stuck on the island”. Of course that doesn’t have to happen but if it does, it makes for a nice, quick profit. It’s the same thing that I worry about going long Nike or any other stock that has a big gap up.

BCEagle91, I think that is a very reasonable post…

Tough day! I’m going to be rolling out a lot of puts. Those vlo puts might have to get rolled out to the next century (LOL)

Lol… Glad to see you have a sense of humor…

OK - bought back the 4/5 vlo 45 put = 4.74, sold the 6/22 45 = 5.90. Total on this vlo trade = .43 - 4.74 + 5.9 = 1.59. If assigned at 45, effective price = 43.41

Ok… Good luck…

Is the correction here?

[No Foolin?](<a href=“No Foolin’ | Insights | Fisher Investments”>No Foolin’ | Insights | Fisher Investments)

I put a limit order to short VLO at 43 but it did not go off. I expected it to bounce a little this am but that did not happen. Now it is about to close the gap. I missed it .

Thanks for the set up BCEagle91.

A few posts back I expressed concern on North Korea and its potential impact on the market. Are we still so sanguine on this issue?

^^^ Apparently yes because the EWY is not breaking down.

I read a note today in which the author said that if NK was the problem with the market, gold would be going up not down. Thus, NK is not causing the market to go down, bad economic data today is causing the problem.

So BCEagle91, where do you see support in the tesla chart?
