I was going to bail on my small caps but they’re running today. I added to my DIA position this morning. DIA is still a small position for me. BTW, ORCL might fill that gap from earnings.

I wanted to get more of the q’s and csco but was stuck in a meeting until now.

Doct, thanks for the link on Germany. That was an eye opener.

Yesterday’s market action threw me a little bit… Or maybe a lot. I should have taken advantage of weakness in fb and nke…but I was faked out.

Obama’s budget is bullish for stocks because the austerity that is going to come out of a budget deal is going to cause interest rates to be lower than they would otherwise be for years.

This story will end up in the mass media but remember where you read this first. Lol

Anyway…I don’t see why we would have a 10 percent correction under the circumstances we have today.

Now if we continue to rally like this thru most of the summer then I would change my mind.

A link I posted, and a link BCEagle91 posted showed that 10 percent corrections are not that commonplace. Bigger declines are rarer still.
April is the best month.

I’m not sure what he posted but here’s a link: [Frequency and Magnitude of Stock Market Corrections](http://www.marquetteassociates.com/Research/ChartoftheWeekPosts/ChartoftheWeek/tabid/121/ArticleID/140/Frequency-and-Magnitude-of-Stock-Market-Corrections.aspx)

10% corrections occur once every 2 years - that’s not all that uncommon

I guess it is the way we look at things…

There are always people looking for ten percent corrections but they don’t happen every year. That is how I would put it.

You also don’t get moves up like this year so far every year.

No you don’t.

I would be happy with a market that returns 7 percent a year including dividends.

Missing that csco trade on the 5th really p*ss me off. I was going to buy it after it went ex-div and didn’t pull the trigger out of laziness.

Yeah… That sucks…

Someone at the fed sends out an email with the feds minutes. Does anyone know if the public can sign up for those minutes and if so how?

NK is presumably going to launch a missile this week - I’ll probably buy ewy on that day. Looking at perhaps getting into iau if it drops to ~15.05 - 15.1

Does anyone know about BTC or bitcoin trading? It just crashed from 266 to 105 and is now fluctuating b/w 120 & 150?

Bitcoin is similar to buying tokens to play video games except bitcoins are used to conduct online transactions.

Also reminds me of beanie babies…

Bitcoin is pretty volatile for a currency…

Here is a good video…

There is a limit to how many coins are going to be reproduced unlike tokens…

That makes bitcoins appealing…

That’s a good analogy. Or like the tulip bulbs but I cannot touch crypto-currency.

Thanks for the video link dstark. I will watch it.

Here is a wiki link…

I can’t seem to find any clue in the links if Mt. Gox has circuit breakers. It’s pretty wild that BTC can drop from $266 to $105.

I don’t think there are any circuit breakers…

The bitcoin talk makes me laugh since I frequent another forum where some people mine bitcoins and they were all abuzz about how the market would be going crazy the next few weeks since the currency has been brought up in the mainstream media again.

For the most part they’ve been used as a supposedly secure, untraceable way of performing business transactions online. Why would you want this? Well, it turns out there’s a decent amount of people that deal with illicit things online. From what I’ve heard the main groups that use it are drug users and people interested in illegal pornography. It’s also apparently appealing to fringe libertarians that are pushing for a gold standard on currency.

Edit: I believe bitcoins were, at one point, valued at about $1k each before the last crash. It’s also important to keep in mind the inventors of the bitcoin have a ton of them since mining back in the early days was much easier, so they were able to stock up.
