The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

Doct, why???

As you point out, at 589, I break even and lose my initial 21 at 610. I’m greedy and always want the most!

Lol…

I don’t know what is wrong with me. I am not that greedy. :)

I thought about buying nflx last week but didn’t feel comfortable about it - too bad

I have no idea how well nflx is going to do… I don’t use nflx either.
My sister’s boyfriend has nflx. My superficial observation is nflx looks interesting.

[Why everyone is wrong about austerity - Brett Arends’s ROI - MarketWatch](<a href=“Why everyone is wrong about austerity - MarketWatch”>Why everyone is wrong about austerity - MarketWatch)

Medicare and Social Security are not assets. Calling them assets is part of the problem. They are simply means of income redistribution from younger to older generations.

They are assets. They can be taken away though.

I just watched the frontline show on retirement.

The show was very depressing.

Jpm is just sleazy… That retirement guy… Omg.

The fees the financial industry charges are sickening.

I do like Jack Bogle though.

I am trying to be optimistic… So…
I probably shouldn’t watch shows like that.

I like Brett Arends quite a bit. The problem with his article is that austerity does not work in this kind of economy. Mathematically. Period.
Doesn’t work. If a policy doesn’t work mathematically… I don’t care about the bs arguments. Austerity does not decrease the debt to GDP ratio. GDP and debt may both decline but the ratio doesn’t really improve.

I don’t disagree with his arguments either. That includes using history to decide what to do. I have made those arguments myself. Like the 4 percent rule…history does not work.

The choice is who is going to feel the pain after a bubble. Somebody is going to feel the pain. We just have to watch the retirement video to see pain.

If a country inflates, you can lower the GDP to debt ratio. Of course there are losers. Savers and buyers of bonds get screwed.

I don’t know if this is hype or not but…

And…how are these specs?

[More Google Glass specs emerge: Dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0](<a href=“More Google Glass specs emerge: Dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0”>More Google Glass specs emerge: Dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0)

Two of my stocks went ex-div this weeks so that’s about $3.8K in a few weeks. I guess that makes up for my loss today.

$1,500 is pretty steep for those specs. Those specs are comparable to very cheap smartphones. The difference is the packaging.

I would take 3.8k.

So…google glass is a crummy phone?

Is that going to matter?

What should be the price point to sell millions of these glasses?

And you bought psec back?

$100.

They have to figure out how to prevent people from crashing into things while they are walking, running, bicycling, driving, skateboarding, etc.

Remember the monocles in Firebirds?

<a href=“Fire Birds - Jake in the flight simulator - YouTube”>Fire Birds - Jake in the flight simulator - YouTube;

Yup, only got 1/3rd position at what I felt was a reasonable price.

That was a great clip…

$100?

What is the cost to make one of these glasses?

$600 is not going to work?

It’s not a phone. It’s used with your phone. $600 is not going to work.

Ok…

And there is a very negative article about google glass…
