The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

So doct, a 6.67 percent return in the spy in a year doesn’t sound so far fetched to you?

I don’t have a clue what you’re referring to. Where is 6.67% coming from?

What is the point? lol

Post 7321 and onward…

OK - its not up 6.67% since that date. Also a wise investor or trader is capable of changing their mind when the facts change - (not that I’m particularly wise) paraphrasing Keynes.

Those in the upper middle class may not have always been there. Or we might have a spouse that grew up in third-world poverty.

Keynes was a genius…

Yes…you are allowed to change your mind.

Traders that don’t change their minds end up ex-traders.

Yes, but we had a crash in 1987.

The current stock market has been going up since March 2009.

Sometimes it’s a good guideline and sometimes it isn’t. But it is something I keep in the back of my mind on OpEx Week.

Yes we did have a crash in 1987. I didn’t say the rally was going to end well. Lol

BCEagle91, what are you keeping in
Mind? We can talk today. What would you be looking at in the spy options today?

I didn’t keep anything in mind today. I went out to hit tennis balls. I was prepared for some gyrations though but my returns are so high this year that I didn’t think that I really cared.

I guess I’m being complacent.

It was another 30K day. I’ve had a lot of those this year.

I know. You are doing extremely well.

Nice lifestyle you have going…

The article is not important.

I don’t live any differently when I’m making money or losing it. My stress varies though. In general, we try to live off my salary. We had to dip a bit into savings for college expenses but we have a breather there for now.

A very smart trading friend thinks that we’re going to have a pullback of about 50-75 points on the $compq. He started scaling into the market around January 2009 and the rest of us thought he was nuts. He was fully in after the bottom in March. He posts every couple of weeks and popped in with a very brief comment today.

I’m hoping for a pullback - maybe when qe starts winding down as everybody panics even though in reality it shouldn’t have any effect

As far as the market direction is concerned, my buddy ken fisher every winter puts out a report predicting the market. He has been spot on the last three years and months ago predicted the market was going to have a big up year.

BCEagle91, you are in great shape. I don’t worry about you.

College expenses are a pain.

^^yes, college expenses are a pain. Hallelujah, one graduates this weekend. Now he gets to support us.

Congrats! Mine graduated last week. Good luck on the support thing, I’m not holding my breath. ;)

I predict that the market will keep going up until the day I move out of cash and get back in. I should just do it and get it over for everybody.

Just tell us when you are planning on doing it so we make contingency plans.

Congratulations to you too. And yes, please let us know. We usually take credit for being the trigger for the market to crash, but maybe it was your fault all along.
