The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

What are you talking about…the market is already trading differently than yesterday…

Same type of reversal pattern, yesterday it dropped big, today opened strong…yesyerday closed well of lows, and today i think it will close well off highs…

^^expect it to close of highs but I’m not sure if well off highs

Does anyone thnk Cisco sandbagged their outlook to then beat the revised numbers? I have a feeling that is what they are doing! It seems they do that year after year

not sure what cisco is doing but that is what they do for the last 10 years. Everytime when they beat the street estimate, they will announce some groomy outlooks. I am ****ed, as a long time share holder, my cisco stock price has not been performing well. I should have sold it long time ago.

I haven’t held csco for quite some time - since I lost my shirt on the stock when I owned it when it was in the high 90’s. I thought however that over the past few years, Chambers has been pretty honest with guidance but that is probably just my perception.

Anybody use: valueinvestorsclub.com?

One more thing; those of us with our IRA’s languishing because we’re too chicken to play the market are holding out for the next downturn. We see that nothing has changed to reign in the crooks since 2007-8. We have kids in college and retirement looming. We need to know some of the cash will still be there. Also, if you look at the Dow, S&P and NASDAQ charts not 10 years but ALL or since inception, there’s a suspicious pattern. I think lots of the “retail” ppl are holding some big powder for the next big crash. Which according to those big charts looks perhaps maybe might be close at hand. Like, uhh, around election time? But then this stuff is what makes daytraders I think. Just pick something volatile and play the ups and downs. Much neater in its own way.

Nobody wants to buy Facebook on the IPO?

Watching Bloomberg. Bank of China coming in (Fed approval received) to CA and Chicago. ICBC, Bank of China, ABC (Agricultural Bank of China). What’s the play?

Facebook: those of us who use it dislike that it constantly changes the interface and in fact the most recent change has many ppl I know using the thing far less. Coupled with suspicion re/ the IPO. As in, fear of using it due to the fact that the company is about to go public. (All your pic’s and info are belong to me now.) Short it, lol.

George Soros is known for the unmatched success of his Quantum Fund. A hedge fund guru, he is recognized for having the best performance record of any investment fund in the world over its 26-year history.
Ok…I did sell some puts today…force of habit.

And I need to get a little longer…because Roubini is negative and so much longer than I am. :)

Tilson mentioned that he went long some stock based on valueinvestorsclub.com. This is a Greenblatt website that might be of some interest.

I know…it was BKS…

Whitney should be investigated by the SEC.

No it wasn’t that, it was something he mentioned this morning - I can’t remember which stock but it definitely wasn’t barnes & noble. Apparently unless you’re accepted by your fundamental analysis, you can only access the site as a guest.

I’m getting an itchy trigger finger to buy iau and aapl again.

Come on Doct…we have been chatting for years…how many times have I given you bad info? :)

By the way…my favorite stock was mentioned by the founder of the club… Ooops… I better be 100 percent accurate. Maybe the stock was mentioned by one of the other “gurus” sitting in the chairs. :)

That may be true but the stock he mentioned today was not bks and he said he did it based on that site

Which stock was it?

Oh…you don’t remember…

Tilson was on today?

Did you check out his record for 2010 and 2011?

This isn’t Tilson…
